I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited as all get-out about OBAMA winning the election... but just to add a little known fact about him being the first 'black/african-american' president...

John Hanson was the First President of the United States! 1781-1782 A.D.—
George Washington was really the 8th President of the United States!

Alot of people don't even know about this...

The black community alone could not have made him win...If you really look at the results; he won the popular vote (so far 62,946,627) and electoral vote (349) as well...

62 million votes is a hell of a lot of people voting... I think people just saw that although he may not have been the most experienced candidate (based on Republican opinion), he succeeded in running a campaign unlike any other in history...

Obama is a great, intelligent man will be able to run the nation...He was able to select a campaign manager and staff that was able to help him raise in upwards of $ 600 million dollars and assist him with getting his message out to the public no matter what...

I have confidence that he will select a cabinet fitting of assisting him with running this country

Why I didn't vote for McCain:

...not to mention, if (and not wishing anything bad on anyone) McCain won and something fatal happened to him, WE'D BE SCREWED indefinitely.

Why I voted for OBAMA:
I'd rather vote for someone who (could but not necessarily) would mess things up trying to make things better, than to vote for someone that would continue to make things worse doing the same s#!t.
...and because he's black!

Race is still an issue in America, infact all of North America AND Europe and lets not forget Australia. If you think it's not, you are living in denial. And regarding Obama, well, we'll have to just wait and see if he actually brings about any "change"...don't get me wrong...I'm not for McCain but I was not for Obama either...I just didn't think either of them really know HOW they are going to pull it off amidst all the mess left behind by GW Bush...🙂

Yes - Someone has to say it, and it looks like im the one that everyone on this threads gonnna hate !!!!!
First Black President and all that - Awesome, Fantastic etc etc
But forget all the speeches that everythings gonna change for the better!!
ITS SPIN - THEY ALL SAY THAT AT FIRST
Bush said, clinton said it, blair said it
Kevin Rudd (our prime minister) said it, and NOTHING, i mean NOTHING has changed.
They all start with the best of intentions, look at history.
Just Dont expect anything special with Obama!!
Its nothing to do with skin colour, a politician is a politician and as we all know, black or white, theyre on a different planet to the rest of us.

yeah well we know that we will not see a change..maybe yes maybe not..my personally feelings on that is the government cant change things for u..financially or otherwise,,we control what we make, and what we do with it,how we ultimately live our lives,,so no u will not see a change until u are ready to make it....for some obama being the 1st african american president is a big thing because it is the first someone of our color who is recognized to be a leader,,it is way deeper back to slavery,,,because we are equally smart, articulate and humanitarians at heart,,it feels good to be recognized toooooo!
