Congrats! GREAT find on that stone too!
Every time you snag a load of stone, lift those heavy rocks, swipe that trowel.... $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ .
If I could get my hands on good stone cheap, I'd almost crack the whip after the fire pit and patio, and do that wood fired stone hot tub if at all possible. Top notch materials, cheap, practically in your back yard? That's a sign from the heavens right there, madam.
Looking forward to those pics!

ya know... maybe if you could get a pic of it at noon, with the sun directly overhead... the colors would show up more vividly?

@ Cowpuncher...I am loving the hell out of this. It's like the glass mosaic art I do, but outdoors with stone (heavy ass stone that is...thank God for my son's help) I'm 3/4 done with patio..Firepit/fireplace floor is in, am building that up after patio is complete. Should be done by this coming weekend. Dug down 4" got a load of 2.5 tons of #1A stone. The actual base of that stone is 3.5 inches enough to work with. No more mossy, mucky area!!
Best part...about a mile away, an excavator has been dumping stone from a site he cleared and piling it all up. Some beautiful and colorful stones too. Total cost: $ 50.00 (for the 1-A stone).
I am extremely proud of this project! Especially not having to pay a contractor to do it.
I see some warm steamy nights ahead.... 😄
