yup! i was really fit and skinny a year ago but then i moved abroad and started partying a lot and developed a habit of emotionally eating. i gained a bit and have been working at getting my body fat between 23% -20% again. currently at 25% . so now i'm back on a medium-intense fitness regimen. i either eat hardboiled eggs or a green smoothie for breakfast, a sensible lunch, and another smoothie with lots of fruit and a handful of nuts for dinner (sometimes i supplement with crackers). in general i'm a fairly healthy eater and i don't drink alcohol much anymore. my only vice is candy, which is so hard to cut back on!! here's my recipe for a green smoothie. it's REALLY tasty.

-100 ml of oj, 0% milk, almond milk, or water (ideally).
-2 table spoons of chia seeds (make sure you soak them in whatever liquid you are using for 5 mins first)
-a handful of fresh spinach
-a cup of froz strawberries (or whatever froz fruit)
-half a banana
-a couple dollops of yogurt (greek, plain)

in the mornings i also drink 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar mixed with oj for energy. i drink this at night too (when i remember).

my workout plan:
interval training on the treadmill. start at a comfortable pace for 3 mins, then increase your pace for a min, return to your comfortable pace for 3, and then increase your pace at higher pace than before.. EX: 7 km/min pace for 3 mins, 10 km/min pace for 1 min, 7 pace, 10.5 pace, etc etc. do this for at least 20 mins total. jump off the treadmill and do squats with some weights. jump back on treadmill and do interval running for another 10. jump off and do squats.

once i've finished my cardio, i do some core workouts. lunges/abs.

i find inspiration by following those fitness buffs on instagram. also i guess it helps when my sister is a competitive fitness model. HER regimen is way intense.

good luck!! remember it's a steady journey. don't be discouraged!

I often bail out of my own schedule due to feeling down.

I'm the exact opposite. I generally feel more motivated to work out when I'm feeling down. It's a much healthier way to channel your frustration than say, eating, for example. Plus, it makes you feel great after; all those endorphins and whatnot. I've only recently started going to the gym, though (mostly to counter my PMS symptoms).

Good music helps keep me motivated. Make sure you have some upbeat tracks to exercise to. Sometimes, I get so engrossed in the music that I forget I'm working out. As for diet, I don't really have a strict diet that I adhere to, but I do try to eat small, frequent portions throughout the day, and that definitely helps boost your metabolism. It takes awhile for your brain to catch up to your stomach, so a lot of times, people will eat more than their body actually needs.

Thank you so much for replying. It seems like I always begin again. lol.

@bloodflood, thanks so much for that recipe. Tried it the other day and it's great. I have to make that my daily regimen. That's great you have your sister to do this together. Yes, I get discourage a lot but you're right, it's a steady journey. I will try and remember that the next time I get sidetrack.

@peachey, this week I do the 6 small portion meal and it's not instinctively yet for me. More like a chore really but I will give that a try for a month in addition to my workout regimen.
