i thought about this today and how many are slaves to society and how it dictates how people should behave and have them under mind control and dont have free will and afraid to be themselves to be their own human being. Dead in the inside with no spirit of light burning being controlled by a system.

i just think we were put on the planet to help as many people as we can and others carry the torch.

How do You guys feel about this?

Our country in particular stresses non-comformity in almost everything we do; we're strive on being individualistic compared to most eastern countries like China and Japan; if we feel like we're all becoming robotic and heartless in our intentions, we freak the fuck out; on the other hand, we have done many things to stress conformity because we didn't "get it." While we obviously aren't like North Korea in how we must conform, we all conform to an extent whether we are aware of it or not. It's how many humans work. We aren't really such slaves to society; we aren't being so controlled that we can't even make a tweet on twitter (I believe it was in China where a woman was arrested for making a tweet about the government or something). We are only slaves if we really make ourselves out to be that way.

happens all the time, really.

he'll come up with a specific topic and then a few days it's on the virgo board.

...and he doesn't even believe in astrology. i tried to get him to watch that video you posted. nope.

(but his brother had a real good laugh over it!!!! 😛, he liked his too (pisces). thanks again 🙂)

he's in denial and that's usually the first part of accepting the truth.

some people are afraid to know themselves.

Well it's not so much denial that he's in. Some people just don't care about to know about astrology. He can definitely find out who he is without it. I remember LS talking about her son though; he sounds like a virgo to a tee lol.

lol it's hard to tell if it's a joke when you're being serious right now. xD But I agree; astrology does offer a lot of interesting insight that I wouldnt' have figured out on my own.

Yes, def, astrology has helped me understand myself and other people, not to mention the dynamics with the people I'm close with. But I believe people should stay away from the horoscope/predictive aspect of it as life is just too complicated and astrology is actually unpredictable in its predictability.

alot of people dont know that horoscopes and astrology is two different things and quick to dismiss it its a science.

Playing a little devil's advocate here:

There is one thing people have to be cautious of though; I'm sure most of you have heard of self-fulfilling prophecy before, right? Well, you're definitely at risk for that when getting involved with astrology. You're suddenly thrown into this world where all of your attributes are mapped out for you; you're given so much insight, but how do you know that you were already who you were before you were introduced to astrology? I'll admit sometimes it's hard to shake that; I'll look at people; they'll do something and go, "That's such a [insert sign here] thing to do." And honestly for me, that's difficult because I'm concentrating in social psychology, so for me to say something like that, I'm taking away a huge chunk of social involvement and development.

But our brainpower is probably not fully developed yet to get a grasp of the answers to the most fundamental questions of life, so we can't rely on ourselves individually to fully satisfy our intellectual curiousity, life is bigger than you and me, the universe is bigger than all of us.

I have to agree with this; most people who strive for non-comformity don't know that they actually conform to a lot of things. What we know as the bad conformity and what we try to avoid is normative social influence: we conform because we don't want to be judged by our peers, friends, society, ect.

This is a completely separate conformity though that people follow automatically. Informational social influence, and this mostly occurs when situations are ambiguous and we don't have answers.

Ditto I agree with what Shaka said. I feel the same way. I don't really think all of those things are really necessary in life. But, you know, people choose to have certain things in life (be).. if that's what they want. Then let them, I'd rather not fight against it. It's their choice. As I have choices for myself.. personally I don't really consider myself a slave to the society. I believe that I am my own person and I do have choices for myself and how I'd like my life to be like. You were put here to be your own person and no one should be able to take that away from you. People have their differences.. if they want to Shine, let them. If they choose to live quietly, let them. It's just a choice & a destine in life.

Religion & Fame in general.. I think really ruins people. Religion is just a certain Belief, which takes over a major part of this World (I consider myself more Spiritual). While Fame is just caught up in the Spotlight & really..Just losing yourself in it just to go on the Top. But I guess.. some people enjoy being caught up in the Game. It's seriously a stressful situation to be in, I think.

But personally I'd like to enjoy the material things in life, but I wouldn't go to the extremes like being too caught up with what's the Latest. Particularly, Technology..What I have is enough. I'll get a replacement phone that came out 4 years ago and I wouldn't care. As long as it works and it has Good Reception. lol

this is ancient wisdom.

eventually we(slaves) will be freed.

do you think greatest teacher is fortunate or unfortunate?

when have you learned the most and then used it to help free others?

freedom isnt just liberty and pursuit of happiness etc etc

its the right to breath and be left alone but if in fact you find you wont be left

alone and you end up chained...fly away in your mind. no one can touch that.

there are more "free" people living in bondage than those who enslaved or locked up in

some prison in life.

I can be anyone and go anywhere i want in my mind. i can be happy and content and at

peace if i choose to. nothing can steal that if i dont let them.

if they try and take it from you and beat it out of you and you die, they will never

kill your spirit. your energy will be even stronger.

I like this.

That's what I do sometimes.. I just try to escape in my

What if our difference in size isn't so different from the size of the universe? Then what are we to this mystery?
