Changing your appearance

How do you other virgos feel about changing your appearance every once in a while? I'm actually one who isn't so big in constantly doing big, bold changes to my appearance. I highlighted my hair once several years ago, but after that, I never did it again. I got it cut very short once as well, but after that, I never bothered to do it either. However, I'm rather attracted to small, subtle changes. For example, I'll change the color of my lip gloss, try a new color of eye shadow, change up my style every now and then, and as of right now, I'm looking to invest in colour contacts. I've always had prescription contacts for my bad eyesight, but lately I've been wanting to change my eye color from black (which I do love, regardless) to something lighter or that pops. For example, I used this website, taaz.com (it's a great site btw, check it out if you're bored), to mess with my eyes to figure out what colour I wanted.

Does anyone have any input about this? Deal with the same thing? Ect?

Only my hair I change dramaticly from time to time. I had all colors in my hair, and now it's black. I think that goes best with my green eyes. Soon there will be 2 huge changes though. I'm taking a labret piercing and a tattoo...so finally now I'm 30 I'm going to change my style I've always wanted. My ex husband didn't want me to change my style , and I just swallowed it...Bad BAD!!

Are you now implying that to make changes to your appearances has Terms according to being a Virgo?

Naw, not really. I thought about putting this in a more general area, but ended up not doing it. And I was just curious to see how others (and virgos) approached changing their appearance. In this sense, I don't necessarily care if I generalized a little.

No, that isn't how it is for the most part.

Most times I am philosophizing about human behaviour .. most people see me picking words apart to get to the root of intention, to see how a person has made a conclusion or decision.

For the fact that you've been here a very limited amount of time, in comparison to the general population, doesn't award you in knowing how I am, for the most part.

What ticked that lady off was on the Pisces board, and not in here ... then she spends everybody's nerves in making claims I came over here to get her.

wtf?

Did you all even read what was said? Or do you not mind that there was a deception at someone elses expense?

That was just me in my sarcastic, joking manner. What I said was a reflection of what I've seen and/or experienced since my time here on dxp, but I have seen what you just described. For example: The very first time we interacted, you picked me apart, and while I was shocked and took offense, I eventually saw the breakdown and what you were trying to say. And you were correct. As much as I hate to be wrong, I will admit it when I know I am. I will even admit that some of the things you have said to me have helped me see things I was probably too naive to understand at the time

No, I have no right to make assumptions about you, hence why I never bothered to jump into any of the disagreements unless I wanted to make my own point.

I've personally been trying to stay out of all of this. What happened on the pisces board, I did not see. If I said something that was obviously wrong and you were right, then I was wrong. But for this whole situation, I want nothing to do with it. I've already said my peace about it, and that is enough for me.

Of course, it's enough for you, it wasn't at your expense, was it? No skin off your back, eh?

And personally, you were right the fuck up in there with the rest of the community when you closed down the thread in which incriminated her .. oh, yes, you clicked that button, didn't you?

And now say .. you want nothing to do with it. Of course.

Tamara is the only one with balls enough to come forward and say something that was said in the closed thread .... that CLC called all Pisces whores. And there was much much more that CLC said, but, that's all Tamara said.

Point is ... now, you want to take the backseat and say you want nothing more of it .. and this comes after you all closed down the thread in which proves that CLC was the one in the wrong, and not me.

Fine, you leave all this behind you now .. no worries, she's a Virgo, afterall and that is all that matters. I'm a Pisces so you've already said your (((((peace)))) .. and you've done a wonderful job at making her feel so great, and not guilty at all .. keep up the good work.

Good night.

I didn't close it to protect her. She can handle herself. I wanted it closed because I didn't see what it could prove or what it could accomplish. It all got lost in the arguing. I couldn't stand the arguing from either side. I wanted nothing to do with it from the beginning. I made no move to even blame you for any of this, and I wasn't going to call CLC out when I didn't even know what the hell was going on. What was brought to the virgo board was what I saw. But if you want to think otherwise, then I can't stop you. Instigation isn't my forte. I'm sorry if you're not getting what you want, but I'm just one person and I remain neutral still.

Good night as well until all of this is resolved.

You don't get it, do you?

You are here trying to tell me why it isn't your business and that you didn't want to take sides, and etc .. and that isn't even my point, nor why I'm mad at you and the community, Candeh.

I have never in my entire life, nor in here ever asked or expected a person to take a side with me .. have you ever heard me even suggest such a thing?

I am mad because you all closed it down. Even what you wrote above .. you took it upon yourself to make the decision on what thread is going to be allowed to stay. You say you wanted nothing to do with it, but, you did want something of it, you did get involved with it, you got involved worst than taking sides ... you (the community) went into a business, a issue in which you wanted no part of and made yourselves such a part of it, that you decided you were allowed to control it.

You closed it ... and that is what pisses me off. And SeaVixen, and every other person out there who clicked that button is in for a rough ride, as well.

If you wanted it to be none of your business .. then you should have honored your own goddam self and not closed it down.

It wasn't up to you (community) to see what it would prove or not prove .. it wasn't up to you to see what it would accomplish or not accomplish ... because you said you didn't want to be involved, rememeber?

You involved yourself ... you erased the evidence .. how much more involved do you think you could be than that, Candeh?

If this is the case, then I might as well strap myself in. What was done can't be taken back. Yeah I could have ignored it, I tried, but apparently I didn't try hard enough. If I'm going to make any excuse as to why I chose that route, it's because when feeling threatened and distress, my immediate reaction is to get rid of whatever is causing the problem. If I'm wrong for doing what I did, then by all means, excuse me for being a totalitarian, coming in between all this, and wanting to keep the peace. It's not my place, obviously. I can understand why you'd be pissed off, but unless you have a suggestion as to how this can all be worked out, then do what you will and enact punishment.

" .. when feeling threatened .."

Who was making you feel threatened, if I may ask?

Wasn't me, I barely spoke ... fear was instilled? To make you feel threatened?

Who did that to you?

Oh, it definitely wasn't you. It wasn't really anyone in particular. Although, I did feel the more I spoke out to stop the arguing, the more I felt like I was throwing myself into the lion's den. I do not do well in volatile situations, so yes there was something like fear of everything just blowing up. And since my situation outside of dxp, in real life as a whole, wasn't great, I wanted dxp to be my distraction, and I only came to find more stress. So I reacted the only way I knew how: to stop the threat in it's tracks.

candeh, thanx for the tipp. i'm going to try that site. as for changes: yes, they are good. it's all about expression and reflection. changes can be cleansing too. you get rid of the past. you approach a new phase. changes can give you confidence. different people may approach you. 😉

ps: just cut my hair two days ago, from long to very short - best desicion.

Oh you're welcome! I love the site. It's so helpful and so much fun. Change can be cleansing. I'm actually really excited to try colour contacts more than anything. I haven't found a reason not to. It'll be exciting.

Personally, I don't think I like changes. Except for some hair cuts once in a while, I did nothing else. I don't even like coloring my nails: I love the natural color. My friends and my sisters came and asked me my opinions whenever they tried to change their hair style s by dying, straightening or curling, (which they did a lot, too) I never encouraged them. They also suggested me to do something about my hair, but my answer was no. My Virgo boyfriend doesn't like me to do anything about it either. The same goes for my Virgo father. When my Aries sister got her hair dyed into brown, he kept saying he didn't like it. Being an Asian, I don't think we look good in light hair colors especially blond. So I just stick with my black hair. No straightening. No curling. Even though I wonder sometimes how I'd look in big curls, I'm afraid of changes. I ended up doing nothing. Hair style is what I can only think of right now. I think I feel the same for other stuffs too. For example, while my friends and my sister like to buy clothes those are "in season", I normally go with the same style . They find me quite boring sometimes. Or maybe, most of the time. But that's just how I am. =D

i know a virgo girl who got boob implants, got tattoos on her arms, changed her style of clothing to a more biker slut style . before that she was all innocent, natural and just beautiful the way she was. she was my high school crush and now all i can think about when i see her is just the image of guys that probably just want to stick it between her.

Reminds me of Heidi Montag. She didn't change herself over to a biker slut per se but, well, I think we all know her before and after.

I don't like radical changes either--I've changed the natural dark-brown of my hair to a golden red

This tone (no, that's not me in the pic, lol)

But I changed it to black once I went natural almost 3 years ago (trying to do the no-chemicals thing as much as possible) and have now let it grow out into my natural dark-brown once again.

I'm not even flashy with jewelry--I had a ring w/our birthstone on it, a gold heart pendant on a chain, and a gold link bracelet from age 13 until about 22 or so, then just...I dunno, just suddenly stopped wearing them...

I don't even wear makeup--lipstick occasionally, but that's about it.

I like the natural look.

Even the way I dress--it's usually earth tones (I LOOOOOVE black clothing, it compliments me so well), and it's down-to-earth/tomboy, lol; black hoodie and jeans.

My hair is naturally curly. I quit that shit when I was like 14. They're so bad for you.
I also don't wear much jewelry, except the piercings that I have and I have several bracelets on one wrist that I wear all the time. I'm also about looking pretty natural. The funny thing is, I change my appearance not to really change, but to compliment. Hence why a lot of my changes are subtle. To see them, you'd really have to look and ssee how they work with me. I think the one thing I change the most is my nail polish hahaha. I always have my nails painted, and I change them once a week or so.

I was brainwashed for a long time, Candeh--I wish I had discovered going natural back in HS, because I swear...it's wonderful 🙂 I'm NEVER going back to the "creamy crack"!

I just bought a beautiful golden heart pendant, but can't find a chain that's the right length for me--they're all too long.

Weirdly enough? I don't wear nail polish--don't laugh, but whenever I have in the past, I had extreme cases of bad luck. Yes, I'm superstitious, lol.

I change ALOT now .. I didn't use to, but as I got older, I seem to want to do more stuff. My mom doesn't like want I do to my hair. Highlights and things like that are not her thing, she thinks its trash on some accounts but I don't think so. Daily, I keep my hair in a bun just because it works out better that way because I'm so darn busy.

OMG, I really like that color .......

And here I was thinking about getting blue highlights in my hair, I've been wanting to go blue for so long but my friend might talk me into it.

hehehe, I love it too--it's subtle and drastic all at the same time.

Haven't had it in a while, but I really did yearn for it this summer...just that my hair is finally healthy and long enough now that I've been keeping chemicals away, I'd hate to lose it all just because I lightened it.

If you want the red color, then try henna 😄! I've heard from my buddies that it works great and you can get it in different colors too, not just red I think.

Hair color can be terrible for the hair ... I know ... I'm always screwing up mine :/ then I moan about it later.

Once I let my friend spray-paint streaks in my hair -- one of the worse mistakes ever! It took forever for my hair to get back to normal from that. I think she knew that too, that bitch, that's why I don't like her to this very day lol.

I tried, and the henna didn't take 😢(
It gave that "gotta stand under the sun to see any difference whatsoever" reddish hue

the problem with red hair is the high maintenance factor. you need to be very accurate with your make up. you have to consider the skin tone and eyebrow color which is an instant give-away. i would always favor the natural hair color.

omg, you are NOT even lying! I would just go with lipgloss, with just a HINT of reddish-brown or something, because I just couldn't...

And forget about wearing purple or blue clothing. Just forget about it...

Really 😢 I fear many salons, I'm careful. My hair was screwed up once before by some chick who 'claimed' to know exactly what I wanted and she didn't. I like Salons but because I move around so much, I'm careful with who I go to.

I once had a dream that I had these really awesome purple highlights several years ago. I still remember it to this day, and I felt it was like someone telling me to do that one day. And I might, but it might just be like a streak or something. For the most part, I like my natural hair color. And I wouldn't want to change my eyebrow color because I love my brows. So, I'm doing the next best thing and changing my eye color.

But you know what? The BEST...BEST time to do some really shocking color of highlights is coming up--halloween! You get to try it out, and if it comes in in a way you may not like, you can always blame it on the holiday 😛
