Just curious... My virgo has helped to motivate me in many ways to better myself, but I have a virgo friend who's the king of criticism.

Why do virgo's feel the right to "inspire" or push people to "perfection", when rarely are they ever perfect themselves, why should someone take advice, criticism from someone who has their own interpretation(often very different than who they are giving unwanted advice to) of "perfect" when moretimes they dont know what it is nor have they reached the level they strive for, for themselves?

When I was about twelve I remember trying to rework the calender to coincide with a ten hour clock I invented. Just to rid us of that pesky leap year caused by faulty calculation. I did all the division by hand, plotting our celestial course to within .000000014 of a second. In fact I had to invent a half second based on a half pulse of the cesium atom.

Daaaamn!
That's pretty nifty, I don't know the mathematics behind it, but it would be something I would pursue, haha.

I do it not because I think I am somehow better than the person I am dealing with, but rather I see it as simply my responsibility to help out.

I believe this is true of most Virgos, and I also believe that it is misconstrued many times by people who somehow get the notion we are a people who think our own feces is more fragrant than their own.

Yup!

I have had a simple motto since I was 14 or 15.
"If I can help, I will. If I can give, I will"

Virgos are not perfect, but we eternally strive to be.
"Shoot for the stars, land on the moon" kind of attitude.

We spend lots of time analysing ourselves, our imperfections, other people, their imperfections and how we believe these things can be fixed.

Who is more worthy than us, if not we the perfection seeking sign of the zodiac, to help you become better?
Especially if we can talk to people and often time help them understand their own selves.

Very True Cajun! But what is infinitely irritating for me is the innate ability to filter through the complex problems of others and be successful, but not have the same rate of results within ourselves. I would gather we can try to logically pick the locks of imperfection, instead of using the key of emotions which we fall a little short at times. (bad analogy I know) hey I half alive right now.🙂

It's manipulation. He likes the stroke of ego he gets every time you depend on him.

Yup, for Scorpios and Virgos there tends to be a tug and battle, "power control".
Neither will concede, makes things mildly amusing.

Not sure I catch the drift, but emotions are something we have to fight our nature to understand.
Once you start caring less about being anal and letting go some, it becomes easier.

"Analytical thinkers just can't get enough information."

This is so true. Before I buy any kind of gadget or (hell) even a lipstick, I will research it DOWN to the ground! When I buy an album? Who produced it? Where was the producer and artist born? Who influenced them? Then I research the person that influenced them. I get a little bit of a history lesson in the process. It could go on and on and on. I get on my nerves sometimes.

You're looking at it the wrong way caj 😛 trust me. Cappies are very much like us, except they dont spend nearly as much time as we do talking about the things they're gonna do, but actually doing them quietly 🙂

Your Cappie woman perhaps... or at least those you have met.

Not so in my experiences 😛
They just have to have the last word, have to win, have to come off as better, have to put you down/in (their perception) of your place.

Not the best diplomats and crack under pressure.

I agree on their innate competitive streak 😛 but it can happen that when you arent close enough to them (aka they still dont trust you enough) to a certain extent they will want to gauge your personality a little by trying to compete with you (its a cardinal thing) but if look at it well, its pretty harmless in itself, all it takes for them to give you a second look is showing them you can hold your own, but its a bit of a game so I consider it as just playing and thats probably why it doesnt really bother me about them. 😛

Trust me, once you're close to them it will pretty much stop or you'll get so used to it you'll probably end up enjoying it 😛 well I know I do. Keeps things fresh.

The only time and place a Virgo man would concede is in the bed honey, and even then you have to come good! LOL

Arguments between cappies and Virgos are legendary and actually kind of interesting for outsiders to experience 😛 The stubborness displayed is like nothing you'll ever see.

Run for cover!!!!! The insults that each virgo and cap can spit out between one another can brutal! I wouldn't want to witness it.

Hmmmm....wikipedia is not really a reliable source. Anybody can edit and add information if they want to. I just don't entirely trust that site because of its inaccuracies.

I'm not saying that caps and virgos can't get along. I'm just saying that if there were ever time that the two signs were to get into an arguement and the attempt was to hurt the other's feelings.....not good.

Yes, yes. That line has been slaughtered to death.
Wikipedia is still the most consistent and accessible source of information.

If you know what you are looking for anyway, you can tell if something is off. It's a suppliment, not Biblical.

There are hardly any solid sources of information left anyway, so why cry down Wikipedia?
At least they are up front about their fallacies.

^^^^Well the co-founder of wikipedia is upset because he didn't intend for the it to be a site that contained such crazy data contributed by its viewers. Even with its inaccuracies, people still believe EVERYTHING on the site. It's not about them being upfront about their fallacies, it's about them crying out in anger after the fact. The co-founder has since created Citizendium. It will still allow its viewers to edit BUT it will be checked for accuracy by its licensed experts. The number of viewers has declined and so it is not doing as well as wiki because you have to register.
Of course I'm sure that you know when something is off, but not everybody. But then again, if we don't know much about something and we read about it, if it is eloquently laid out, how are we supposed to know that it is off?

Indeed, after is has been pounded into our minds that Wikipedia is an unreliable source for years we get the idea.
It's good for recreational research, not for writing school theses. lol

See it depends if the person finds other sources outside of wikipedia for comparison really.
The Citizendium site sounds like a good idea though.

I believe it originated on thetediouspath.com
But that website no longer seems to be working.
