i get over things pretty quickly at times i scare my self of that fact i also think that air signs dont dwell on things to long because its not logical 2 them 2 air signs is like why bother playing that same record over and over.

being mysterious (leaving a bit to the imagination) and being detached are two different things. Being detached is only a + when it saves you feeling hurt like Trifles said. Going through life being detached...you miss a lot of things, ie: forming bonds, connecting with people on a "true" open level, hinders life experience. A person with attachment issues is said to have sociopathic tendencies. Sitting on the outside and always looking in is safe LV...but boring.

LV...Pisces aren't really open either...we're pretty choosy about letting people "in" so to speak. We're pretty open about expressing ourselves. What I was trying to say was that I think the word "detached" may not be the word you meant...I think you mean you're more of a loner, being a loner doesn't mean you're detached. A detached person really feels nothing...they have no empathy,compassion, sympathy, or love (maybe just for themselves)...but that would be the definition of a narcissist. I think Virgo has excellent control over himself/herself and his/her emotions...but you still feel them, you are not indifferent, you are just better at controlling yourselves and looking at things logically from an arms length away...idk..just my thoughts

you, sir, are correct on both counts.
being a person that is a 'detached' type person, i don't think when it is used in the ccontext of astrology means the exact definition as you entered from a dictionary. You can be a detached type person yet still bond with people and have conflicting emotions of empathy, compassion and so forth.
I think detached in context to this conversion is in regards to people having the ability to be able to remove or detatch yourself from the emotion of whatever is currently transpiring. Its kinda like the not dwelling on pain or hurt, we still feel the pain, and if years later we think about it, we will still feel that same pain. It doesn't mean we lose out on opportunities and relationships. If you aren't a truely detached type person i dont think you could understand what this means. It's a defense mechanism that i believe is truely a gift. I do not feel it has hindered any relationships with people i'm close to. If anything it might have an addtional value since we dont' dwell on issues that might hurt us from people we love and care for. I don't hold grudges, i can completely forgive and forget if i choose to. SOme people can't and don't have the ability to be so forgiving.
