Stupid question

My husband just rang to say, he'd be home soon and could go and get something to eat around 2pm, or so.

He asked me, if the meal inbetween breakfast and lunch . . is brunch, then what's the mean inbetween lunch and dinner?

Linner? Lunner?

I know, I know . . ridiculous question . . but, I don't know the answer, and he was asking.

OK A Meal replacing Lunch & Dinner , taken in mid-afternoon is called DUNCH.
OR Let's be more crreative I'll call it LUNDIN...

Then you can say we flew to London for a Lundin...sounds romantic:-)

So you ever think about where words come from, like, sandwich?

Sand-wich . . which sand am I gonna eat?

Or, Breakfast? Break-fast. Take a break to fast? Fast means to NOT eat.

You're milking the cows and feeding the chickens, to take a fast break so you can eat?

The sandwich is named for John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich (18th century), he is sometimes falsely credited with the invention of the sandwich. However, he was quite often seen eating such a meal. Rumor had it he would stuff slices of meat between 2 slices of bread so he could snack while gambling.

Anyways, a 2pm meal to me is lunch if I hadn't eaten prior to then, otherwise, I consider it supper... those who've seen BB King live and heard his stories will understand...

I don't remember the name of the dude but yeah,what virgopmoon said sounds similiar only somewhat different.What I was told is basically,the dude had alot of paper work stuff all the time and asked his cook to create something that wouldn't be messy and created a sandwich.Before the "sandwich" bread,cheese and meat was eaten in broken off chucks,limbs or whatever else.
