ok that explains why you took the lead its seem like he interested in you but from what your saying its seems like he is testing you to see if you are as interested in him as he is into you. If you don't want to say it to him you can use your body language to give him hits like. Long stares little touches here and there ect... or you can ask him what he thinks about you and him getting together.

if anything, i'd rather show him than say it. when i display any kind of emotions, it comes out super awkward, but i really like him, just lost as to how to get closer to him. i don't want to give him too much attention, or show him too much emotion because i know that there are a lot of girls around him... (we come from two different worlds). i really have trouble opening up. i'm just fearing us not being on the same page, and i have trouble allowing myself to feel vulnerable.

Well I think you should be yourself its always better for someone to like you for you than being fake. The only thing I would warn you about is trying to put conditions on him not saying you would but aries women are know for being pushy. Just tell him how you feel and see what he does with it.
