that you have given to get people away from you?

Strangers:
I've told people in a bad non descript accent ,I don't speak English.
I'm not from here_____fill in blank.
I've started calmly talking to myself.
Known:
I gone outside while on phone and rang doorbell.
I'm late for appointment.
My favorite-We'll talk soon.

LMAO! "I'm in a rush" strangers and known.

Nothing....usually I don't get approached lol

Known:
I'm busy
I somehow locked myself in my room...I gotta figure a way out. Hahaha ya that ones not the best but it worked
I'm getting another call
Gotta get home to let the dog out (even though he's already been out)
Didn't answer the door (even with my car being outside) but starred at them through the peep hole making sure they would leave...then told them later I was sleeping

I do the "don't speak English" thing as well.

It kills me, because no matter how threatening I'll make my face, people still want to approach because of the babycheeks.

I'll be THAT chick the little old women at the bank turn to talk to as we wait on line.
I'll be THAT chick guys strut on over to, rubbing their chin w/their thumb and forefinger while they think up a line.
I'll be THAT chick people will stop to ask the time, and then want to launch into their life story.

Not a people person. Not at all. Why won't they stop?

Lol, probably because you just look nice. I know girls who would love to probably be as approachable as you are, whether you like it or not. You should embrace it; I mean, not force yourself to deal with people, but just smile to yourself. But, whether you're a people person or not, people are attracted to you, and that can help you out some day. You have something, probably a nice smile or wonderful eyes, something that calms people and makes them think that you aren't going to rip their throat out. I would take it as a compliment, even if you hate it 😉

As for me, and this happens more often on campus than on the street, I just put in my earbuds and turn up on the music on my iPod. Sometimes, I act like I don't see people even if they see me, or I'll literally walk in the opposite direction if I'm not feeling too friendly.

Usually I walk with a purpose (I just do this naturally) so that probably steers people clear because I look like I don't have the time, which is probably true most of the time lol.

Although, I still flip a smile to passing strangers. If I make eye contact I feel it's enough to communicate to them that I'm approachable, but just not at the moment, which ends with me just walking on or saying I don't have the time to talk.

As for people I know, I'll just say I'm busy or that I have to go meet a friend or finish homework. Usually the homework is true lol.

My coworker actually got locked in her apartment. The dead bolt jammed and they had to call emergency maintenance. And he couldn't get it to work, so they took the hinges off and he ran at the door until she could squeeze out.

She doesn't live on the first floor, so going out her window wasn't going to happen.

@LIMM Usually when I try to nap for real, something always happens.I gave up.

@CL Yup I'm THAT CHICK as well. It's like they NEED to talk/reach out to you.I do game face or just look right through them now.It works in 95% of time.

@Candeh I heard ,if you believe ,that these needy people see a green aura around you,and are drawn in.It's like they have a need to"confess" and your the one.

@Sempiternal Now that's sad. She's probably "that girl" that weird crap keeps happening to.

Lol--thanks, I understand...it's just that it slows me down and usually knocks me out of my train of thought (which is usually about where I'm headed, or what I plan on doing once I get there). The females approaching me I don't mind so much...but the guys...yeah, "no, thanks" doesn't seem to be cutting it with them anymore. Some of them are hella-aggressive...it's kind of scary...

Yeah--I had to nip that in the bud, and quick, when she called while I was with my Taurus and his family who were greiving the passing of his father.

I had told her I would not be able to pick her up at all that night, and she called ANYway, leaving me serious attitude on a voicemail when I didn't answer.

I was livid. I specifically told her the circumstances beforehand, and she still called to tell me she was without a ride again, and as for the Taurus, I could "bring him along".

She got cursed out.

Supposedly, she got her car back the week after that, I believe.

Haven't heard from her since, and I couldn't be happier.

@Waste of Time Sure that counts if you don't offend anyone or are not going to ever see that person again.I could paragraphs on the stuff that people "need" to tell me.Paragraphs I tell ya.I like the noooo tho"!

@Nemesis Yes? And ? I mean I was giving a temp co worker a ride and we we talking about clothes .The next thing I know, she just starts tells me about when she was assaulted when she was 12.I have a neighbor who wants me for her son.I met someone who's wife ran off and he had to raise his many children by himself. No he wasn't looking for a wife.I mean we talked all those things through and hopefully got some closure for them. Yup I'm that chick.

@Cancermoon Yes I have met some interesting folks also and I have interviewed/asked them more questions.Don't guys think that is so sexy or that they could be the one to change you over—Ugh

@CL Sorry to hear about Taurus'father.*hugs* What a craphead she is. Wow it's a miracle, she suddenly got her car fixed!!

what's with the bs excuses?

I have a look I give people, it's condescending with a hint of "this is so funny" and a pinch of homicidal. Usually works amazingly well. Look through their eyes, with your own eyes focused at the place equal to the back of their skull. They will want to get the fuck away from you.

if if doesn't work, I will often tell them they're being rude. I may ask if they're retarded or have aspergers, since I'm clearly not interested. I may say "no thanks", or simply walk away. But it's super rare. The look usually works.

If they seem genuinely crazy or retarded, only then will I play nice, because they clearly don't know better, and I can't really blame them. I'll exchange a few polite words, then politely get away. They don't need an excuse though .

forgot the old perverts. If the look doesn't work (they are on a mission to score young tail and will be turned away with difficulty). Because they are basically on the hunt for naive young things with poorly defined boundaries, the best response is to clearly state that you aren't interested, and to follow up with "no" or "no means no" if/when they persist.

excuses are for spineless pansies.

Most Virgos have innocent looking faces,so unless we have a face like a bulldog then staring someone down doesn't work.At some point in your life, you may run across this person again and you might need their help.

lol. in my experience, the look i give doesn't really have much of a negative effect in the long run. usually people either assume it's less awful than it is (thinking i was distracted or shy or something) or they'll subconsciously believe that i'm awesome (remember how in school the stereotype was that the cool kids were stuck up jerks) and hope for a chance to get on my good side. the look usually gets read more as "blank" rather than a mean stare-down. i'm a pretty typical looking libra. people talk to me plenty. i generally like a little chitchat if it doesn't feel like the person i'm having it with is going to get all needy and weird, though sometimes i'm just not in the mood. or sometimes they'll be crazy, and i mean genuinely crazy...crazy people understand a look a lot better than they understand a lie. lies make them feel more crazy because they can tell something is off. because of that, i think it's also incredibly cruel to lie to them. the whole reason they're nuts is because of the mindfucking they had to deal with when they were younger. it's not right to pile more on top of it for them to dig through.

and really, if someone ever realizes you gave them some bullshit excuse instead of just saying you weren't in the mood to talk or something, do you really think that'll do you any good?

animals communicate a lot with expressions. humans are animals. we communicate that way too. and if someone doesn't pick up on it, you can tell them the truth. subconsciously they have picked it up and just need you to clarify with a brief statement. as in, if you give someone a look that says you're busy, you may need to follow up by actually saying it. there's still no need to lie. if someone continues to push, they're probably testing boundaries (as in, the way a sociopath does to test potential victims), in which case it's a downright good idea to be blunt.

Being a Virgo,I'm usualy on my way somewhere and it seems like someone gets that and still deciedes to try to talk on with their agenda.

Some folks I don't want to be friendly with,so I lie poorly ,so they will get it( if they know that I am lying 0all the better.

True, you are taking your life in your hands ,lying to a crazy person.

How many people really fess up to not being in the mood, tho?

Yes,it's good to be blunt with all types of boundary pushers.
