Lazy Unproductive Co-Worker

Just want to tell the world how annoyed I am at this person!

So I am currently working in project management, I am part of a team that consists of me, another stupid girl and the team leader (our manager). Now this girl was sitting close to me when I started 4 months back, and every single time I looked her way I swear she was surfing the net, either looking up for a place to move to, a cheap flight, a holiday deal etc. And you know how they say Aries, we can see through you if you are being fake and putting on a show, and I could see right through her from the start, I could see she was just putting on a display that she is doing work when she is doing absolutely nothing. One day she tried to pull on me the "urgent" trick, by claiming that she has something that needs to be done urgently and she wants me to help her with. Of course me, being wide awake as to what she was doing, I flicked it back at her (sorry honey I am not doing your work), as I know our manager gave her that task a week ago but she was sitting on it, too busy surfing the net. Anyway she moved her desk after a month or so. But of course I was so aware of her laziness by then. The funny thing is we turn up to our team meeting, our manager tell us what needs to be done, but nothing happens on her end, what so ever, I've been in this place for 4 months now, and currently running 4 projects, she on the other hand has not started anything ever since I came, zero zilch. She has 3 projects that she is working on (she didn't start them, someone else started them and she got to look after them after he moved to another job).
Now what really gets to me is, not that she is just lazy, she actually tries and poke her nose into my projects (which she has no involvement in what so ever, I started them from scratch and went ahead with them all the way), she just comes to my meetings and to my site visits, and our manager encourages it (he says it is a good way for her to learn .. well my ass) .. she now invites herself along, any meeting that happens that she can take part in, any site visit, she just jumps at the opportunity. And it really get to me, like she is not working on these projects, she is not helping, and for her to turn up to my meetings when she can actually be doing something useful (like getting her actual work done). Seriously last week I had a meeting with the consultant for my project and she was interrupting me and repeating things that I already covered.

Now ... am I over reacting or would that piss about everyone of you?

No, my manager is libra. I think she is a cancer. But hey, I am trying to get others opinion regardless of starsign, otherwise I'd have posted on the astrology forum :p

Things just got worse ... my manager has left and now the team leader is looking after this whole program (which both hers and my projects fall under).

Now my ex-manager was the direct client contact, while me and this stupid girl (lets call her X) managed the contract side of things. Now that my manager has left she thought that she is good enough to be the client contact! The client sent her an email regarding one of my projects (of course the client doesnt know who is looking after what on our side of things, as she was only dealing with our ex manager). Of course she has no clue what is going on in my projects, so she sends me an email asking me to respond to the client and copy her in! ... COPY HER IN! I was really mad ... who the hell does she think she is?! ...

Anyway a bit later on the client gave me a call in regards to some financial complecations with my project that was caused by my ex-manager .. of course I knew that idiot never handled things very well ... from what the client told me, she has not approved the extra funding to carry out the extra work he has approved of. From what he told me, he did get her approval, but apparently he was making that up. So I told her I will get in touch with him and get him to call her and explaing why he did that.

I went flying to my team leader, telling him that the client is panicking about the extra funds she hasnt approved, I requested we go and sit in a room so I can explaing to him what happened, I grabbed the project folders and went in to discuss this with him. Now as I am about to shut the door, I see X about to leave the office, but is standing in the door way but staring in our direction. As we just sit down, the next thing I know she knocks in the door and goes like "do you need me here?" ... i was like "NO!" ... and she looks at my team leader as if she wanted him to ask her to come in, but I jumped at it before he say antyhing, and said sharply "no we are fine!" ... she was hesitant to shut the door but I gave her a look that said "get the hell out of my face!" ... seriously she has an issue with poking her nose around on my work.

Now, I wasn't happy about copying her in in my correspondance, so that wasnt going to happen. In the end of the day, I went to talk to the team leader, it was even better because she has left, so I sat there talking and the whole office could hear. I was like "who is the client contact?", he was like "ummmm ... X for now", and I was like "why?", he was like "who else? ... you said you are going back to doing design next month" (I was thinking, yes thank god, I can't wait, you idiots never appreciate what I have been doing for you over the past 6 months), I was like "yoooou", and he was like "yeah, ok, I am going to be manging the program, but I want someone who communicate with the client on day to day basis", and I said "she can communicate about her own project and I can communicate about mine, there is no need for me to copy her in, I am not having an incompetent person who has no clue what is happening, sticking their hands in my work, I am not copying her in in my correspondence" (she totally knows nothing about the technical side of things, whether or not it is my projects or hers) and he was like "well, you leaving soon so we need to know what is happening with your projects", I was like "listen I won't leave until I finish my projects, I am not gonna leave before they get done, it is not like she is of any help anyway, she needs to be babysit all the time" (she never gets anything done without being fed by a spoon of what task is she to finish next, she can think for herself of what would be the next action to take), he was like "well you can copy me in, then", I was like "yup that's fine, I have no issue with that, I am just tired of having people sticking their nose in my work as if I cant manage on my own, for me, when I get a project then you should expect me to handle the whole thing on my own, if I need help I will ask for it, but I don't want so many hands involved, that's when things go wrong." he was like "ok", and I was like "and I don't need her to come to my site visits either", he was like "that's alright", I was like "good".

Now I probably look like the bad guy in his eyes, he thinks that I probably have a personal issue with X, but he just wait and see, things will start unfolding slowly infront of his eyes now that our manager left. And when I leave he will even see it more clear, because he will only have X in his team, good luck to him getting things done.

I have a girl somewhat like her in my office. I've been with the company for 5 years. She was a temp for a year and perm for 4 months. She used to work in another department. Her boss and probably her too have no idea what they are doing. They didnt do well so they merged them with my dept I guess as a short term fix hoping my dept (#1 in the region) would get them up to par. Then management unmerged the dept but had her and a couple of their employees permanently join ours. That's when I realized how much they sucked. She has some skills but she took the later shift, has her music on, doesnt help with anything other than work she likes and work for her old boss she likes. While she is friendly she acts line she knows what shes talking about and no one notices how little she does. She doesn't try to get involved in the day to day cause she stays in her cubicle partly because she doesn't want anyone to bother her. She doesn't like helping others.

She'll volunteer in front if our boss with projects but then bitch about it an hour later. She also tries to bug me to help her but won't help me. She doesn't bother learning anything new unless it involves management. Gets offended if I decline lunches and won't ask anyone else

Most ppl dont notice how much if a burden she is so rather than do something and look like the bad guy I just avoid her and stay busy but she keeps bugging me and being nosy and throwing herself into conversations. In meetings she doesn't contribute unless someone brings up a non work related topic

Same shit goes on act my job , this chick dnt do nothing, she actually bully these other female do work for her. They made this chick a supervisior years back the only reasonn why they did this because manager seen that she was able to manipulate and influence the other workers. After seeing how she can control people they give her this position also she was cool with old boss. In a three yesr period she attack a worker and got her fired, she blew up on one of the top people. Then got out of that by apologizing with a letter. She even had issues with fighting or fussing with her boyfriend on the job. Omg the lateness , but she get out of that because the other coworkers cover her ass.she at one point told the department supervisior that she had to walk away from her cause she dont want to cuss her out.this was after the department supervisior ask her a question about some paperwork. I dnt understand why she there.the bad part is the coworkers thats up her ass. I never seen a bunch of grown people scared of one person almost everyboby I work with is in there 40s , im one of the younger ones

Only diff between yours and mine is mine isnt mean. That's the probably she comes off as toooo nice until she befriends you. She won't talk or hang out with anyone but her old boss but if hes not around she'll bug me. If I decline she gets offended but won't ask anyone else. In meeting she always nods in agreement with what everyone else says even tho she doesn't know what's going on. She giggles at everything and if shes in a work convo the only parts shell react to is the social stuff. On bday she asked what I was doing after work and I said something like I was heading back to my apt and she frowned

She is coming across as lonely which is probably why she stays at work as late as late as they'll let her cause she had nothing better to do. I remember she said that most of her friends were male and thT she usly doesn't have female friends.
