OP I also dated an Aqua and they sounded similar in terms of actions vs words and expressing how they felt. I made the mistake of ignoring him after the fact because I was mulling in my emotions and hurt and thanks to the Aquas on this board realize that hurt him. I, too didn't realize Aquas emotions actually run pretty deep. If you are this interested in him then try to be direct without coming off overly emotional or demanding. It may be difficult and you may feel justified the way I did but Aquas communicate and react way differently than a lot of other signs. I can assure you ignoring him may spark an initial response but once he figures out why you're doing it (and he will) then he may never speak to you again (something I have had to deal with).

They need to explore you and get to know you in full before they commit because committing is such a big deal to them.

Aquas need to know you, I mean KNOW, before they elevate you. If you want the Aqua, you're gonna have to gamble. You're gonna have to open up and be his friend first. Once Aqua can explore and get to know you, then they'll make a decision.

I'll also admit that I've fallen for women who've started out as friends, however this has been because I've let them get so close that I start to feel that connection with them. It took my present friend close to a year of her trying to get past my barriers to even consider her as anything more than a friend.

I agree with aquariusjv120. I appreciate when a woman is up front with me. As long as she isn't pushy about it. Just let him know how you feel and what you'd like. I personally don't like having to guess because historically I tend to guess on the bad side of things. I know as well as anyone that it fells very vulnerable to share feelings, however I really do appreciate it when feelings are shared with me. I absolutely hate feeling vulnerable, however I do share with special people. I have found out that it is worth it, either way it turns out. It is positive. I know that fear buttttt at least you can say you tried, no harm in that. I think you and him have a better chance then my situation. Mine sends me mix signals. I hurt him and it was intentional but instead of giving him space I tried to mend things. Which only makes things worse. It's crazy because Friday he introduced me to his family but then it's like he relives his hurt with me. I feel the cold in his words and actions. His calls and texts are just less. I know that fear buttttt at least you can say you tried, no harm in that. I think you and him have a better chance then my situation. Mine sends me mix signals. I hurt him and it was intentional but instead of giving him space I tried to mend things. Which only makes things worse. It's crazy because Friday he introduced me to his family but then it's like he relives his hurt with me. I feel the cold in his words and actions. His calls and texts are just less. Heart broken but I guess it's time to cut my losses. Hopefully New Year will bring me luck in love. Good Luck! Let me know the outcome 🙂
