I think I have ADD

I've been literally tired of my stupid brain. I cannot concentrate for the love of god, I was reading a SINGLE paragraph today for 2 HOURS. Whenever I study I have to force myself really really hard to concentrate, can't happen at home, the only place I study at now is schools library. I have bad memory, sometimes I can be talking to someone and while they talk, just like youve seen in some movies, I start thinking about something completely off topic unrelated. That's why ppl call me "random" and "mean" and I cut off peoples sentences, i answer questions before they are finished asking the question, I am however patient. I dont know what the heck is going on i thought i was extremely lazy but come on I do want to study i do want to become someone i do have big goals and dreams, but my concentration is just not letting me get there =[ my "friend" gemini will read something and she will remember it for the rest of her life, I read something I will be lucky to remember it next day, unless its something I am interested in...
I really dont want to add any "Aries" crap into this as it wont help me concentrate, tell me how do u make urselves concentrate because i decided to go to a neurologist or something and check this thing out, i literally cant take this anymore if i keep on like this i will keep sinking career-wise

I know you might think oh everyone gets distracted if the topic is uninteresting but the thing is I feel like its beyond that, it got so bad that i can literally turn off my ears and not hear what people are saying and just think about some shiet someone said to me earlier.. and i also get upset easily from little stupid things...

anyway is this all aries problem or just mine and if you think its too much would u advise taking all these pills if i get them prescribed like adderall or ritalin

btw just read on forums kids wrote abt their experiecnes in college, like they stopped taking these meds when college started and they did terrible in their first year, then they went on meds again and became above average students, since i am average i would ace all that stuff because i dedicate so much time into my studying and get no reward at all

I have the same problem though.

I can barely even watch a movie unless it's super interesting. I think it's just a matter of impatience, getting to the point and moving on.
Instant gratification or something.

I'm having the worst bout of ADD this week! Not sure if it's the freezing weather where I am, or because the stuff I need to read is a total technical snore fest. I'm battling to focus this week. Especially this morning!

idk girls all i know its terrible, it doesnt let me study, it doesnt let me become who i want to become, and thats not cool at all

tuesday im gonna see a doctor, after two midterms on monday, FML

hey Aries people, I teach adults - and go through a lot of them throughout the year - one thing I have found is how difficult Aries can find it to retain concentration - i've found they need action and a challenge when learning new topics so quick as I can i get them a nice project to work on, but its got to be a short enough project that reaches a conclusion quickly and then they are champing at the bit for another one. I find i'm the sortof the same myself too, Leo, but I can concentrate on the detail a bit more - it must be a fire sign thing 🙂

When I was a kid, I learned and picked up on things in a very quick manner. I loved learning, but most times the teacher would still be going on about the same thing while I was ready to learn something new.

Yes this is it Bluemoon, they can pick it up quite quickly and NEED to then put it into practice, work it out for themselves and test themselves, but as its a mixed bunch of learners and others need more time you have to recognise their need and get them onto something quickly so that they don't drift off in another direction while you deal with the others. And mostly they do seem to love to learn new things, you can see the fascination, childlike nearly, in their faces. Great.

@the OP.. do you spike your insulin levels with sugary drinks or foods alot throughout the day?Just wonderin because Ive read that doing so can affect concentration levels..

Yes I have the same problem but I thought it was my moon and merc in Pisces that contributed to that. My friends joke on me about it. I barely even watch tv or movies now because of it, but I can read if im interested in the subject. I am trying to get back into to school for next spring but before I do I will be seeing a doc about this problem because I need to get through this shit so I can have a career.

shiz thats exactly why im going crazy about this, i mean i love how crazy and random i am and people love it too but i got career to think of, i need to get this shiet under control until i finish my med school then i will go off it and become a mean doctor house

actually hate sweets but i do add lots of sugar to coffee for energy that could be it as well

i'm a cancer with an aries moon and i have this same problem i seriously think i have ADD and i hate it lol my friend was talking to me and i was thinking about something while she were talking totally tuning her out and she stops and says "are you listening?" and im like "sorry i was thinking about something what did you say again?" and she gets so mad at me then whenever she calls she can just tell im not paying attention or interested in anything she's saying. i feel bad because i don't mean to be that way it's just i have a short attention span... smh

i thought about seeing a doctor too lol because i need to be able to sit in class for more than 5 minutes without skipping

I have horrible concentration if I'm not interested in what I am doing. My mother had me tested for ADD when I was in 3rd grade because I was doing poorly on tests and my normal pattern of behavior was I would be amazing at the beginning of a the school year - do horrible in the middle - then sort of pick up again at the end. Every year. When I was tested - the psychologist said there was nothing wrong with me, that I am actually incredibly intelligent and that i was just bored. I scored extremely high in the math test. In the concentration test. Another test was to come up with a short story based off of the 3 topic words they gave me - i had 8 pages written by the end of the test and they said it was one of the best things they had ever read. I can be a little absent minded, but what I can remember is quite vivid. I can tell you exactly what my house/bedroom and neighbor's house looked like and the layout of each room from when I was 2/3 years old - every detail. I always impressed one of my leo friends with how much I remembered about anything he said in the whole year and a half we've known each other. Im the same with movies, could never get through Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, not even the books - but i do love to read and got through 15 books in 10 weeks and can tell you all about them. And I go to design school thats broken up into 10 week quarters - basically asked to change the world in 10 weeks. Its very fast, very intense, 4 all nighters a week, but so much fun and exciting and like putting one huge jigsaw puzzle together. The process is thrilling and i live for it. And the fact that its 10 weeks means that its long enough for me to get everything done but short enough for it to keep my attention. And I'm much stronger working in a collaborative, open setting then by myself as an introvert. I love the back and forth between people and bouncing ideas off and creating new things but i loathe studying in a library with just me and my book, all i end up doing is looking at everything but the book. i don't think id ever be able to do academic school. But the design school has the academic liberal arts so it has worked out ok for me. They almost become a nice break from the super fast studio classes. But again, as long as the topic is interesting otherwise i fall asleep - and literally did everyday in one of my history classes because it was my only 2 hours sitting still in a dark room listening to a professor talk about buildings.

I just graduated from college with a Math Bachelor this March. I think your problem is not solo, I always have hard time to focus on studying, and bad memory also.
Lucky was my major didn't require too much memory...because we were allowed to use a formula sheet for exams.

What's your major?
From my experience, no matter how hard you feel......you should keep going......Never give up!!!
If others talking can affect you easily, then you better find a quiet spot to study alone. I never jointed a group studying since I am easy to be distracted...
And I often fall a sleep...since studying is very boring for me as a playful Sag...

You probably have such similar problem as I did.....just remember Never give up!!!

I don't think it is a good idea to take medicine since there are always bad effects coming with...so be careful...and go check with a doctor if you really need it.
