As many as you wish.

Use a lead dispositor chart to consider how they all factor into different areas of your life.

Although I don't like lead dispositor charts so it's hypocritical of me to suggest. But the concept makes it clearer as to how dominant energy plays out.

interesting! i didn't realize there was a chart for that...well...a different one than pullen, which just gives you percentages of everything. are the depositors the ones with circles around them? LOL. that makes the most sense to me when looking at it, but that's the only way to view it (w the circles).

if so...my three depositor signs are Saturn, Uranus and Pluto. No wonder I'm a mess. 😛

my house depositors are Mars and Venus.

I can see how you don't typically reference this chart. in other types of "finding what's dominant" charts (like pullen), it shows I am Venus, Saturn and Sun dominant...Uranus close behind

Personally, just the one dominant sign. I think the dominant sign provides an area of focus or a behaviour of the characteristics of the dominant sign in whatever that house happens to be that the dominant sign rules over in your chart.

I think there you will find potential to master the sign abilities and positive traits and the house associations or to learn more about oneself through that dominance. Sometimes the sign may rule over a house that involves other people, so your experiences may play out through people of the dominant sign or they may have characteristics of the dominant sign.

I think the waters become murky if you start to look at the first 3-5 dominant signs, too many ingredients so to speak. Focus on the first dominant sign and planet, I personally only except the 2nd dominant sign or planet if they happen to rule one of the other. So for example, let's say your dominant sign is Virgo yet your dominant planet is Venus but Mercury is your second dominant planet, then I would say look at the 2nd dominance too, same goes for the signs also.
I see! Thank you very much for your answer. I also tend to consider only the two first dominant signs...

How many dominant signs should we consider? Just one (the most dominant one)? Two (the two most dominant signs)? Or even more: 3, 4...
I read on astrotheme, it's usually the first three.

some say five.

you could only have Neptune pisces and you could be pisces dominant and Neptune dominant because of the angle of the chart ect.

but I've seen people's charts where they have only mercury pisces and they are both Neptune and pisces dominant.
