My avatar is a lotus. Someone had posted a link to Mayan Astrology charts a while back, and mine included a line that stated "Open your lotus to the world." Having spent most of my earlier years researching numerous theological beliefs, among other things, I have always found the lotus to be one of the more beautiful and poetic symbols I have ever come across. For many reasons, that sentence stuck in my mind.

I have always had a love of symbolism. And, when the forum had the ability to have avatars in our posts, I did not want to merely post a picture of who I am but who I strive to be.

"Open your lotus to the world."

That sounds like a beautiful way to be/live.

That's pretty. Those tree houses reminded me of artist Frida Kahlo and her husband artist Diego Rivera and that they lived in seperate houses connected by a bridge. It was perfect.
