i would say scorpio and virgo make the best detectives. also geminis too if they can manage to focus their attention on something for more than a couple of minutes...those gems are very observant folks but they tend to throw things out the window without a second thought, its like, "moving on!"

AFAIK Scorpios are the detectives of the zodiac. In my experience Leos are pretty good too, but I think that is because of the whole "you can't bullshit a bullshitter" rule 😛

scorps are good at feeling out people but thye are not snoops. They tend to pick up things about people but are not going to look into it. I think virgos are good too. but because cancers are a curious bunch I think they make great detective. the cancers I know are always trying to find out something about something and will go out of their way to get the answer.

Its possible that Cancers have a strong investigative streak about them, cuspy Cancers with Gemini or with a probable Mercury placement in their charts. Cancers might have basic potentials relating to observation, gathering of facts, investigative facilities (intuitive Water) and interpretative facilities - the facility - ability or capability to investigate, interpret, observe etc,. More subtle with these types I would imagine compared with the heavy handedness of Scorpios and Virgos.

Virgos, Scorpions, and Aquarians.
Scorpio might be detective, but what they detect is all the more negative. Virgos are good with all facts, and Aquarians are the best at assessing people.

I would have to say Pisces, Scorpio are okay but they tend to be too blinded by thier own convictions to see the truth. While Pisces tend to have this natural intuition. It's almost spooky.

I would say Scorpios and Capricorns...

Scorpio's of course; their observational skills are awesome. Virgo's can cover the minute details. However, i still think Pisces heightened intuition and radar-like feel for their surroundings can count for much too. When you got a feeling, or a hunch, for a piscean it's usually spot-on. =)

I would say pisces and aquarius

i am a leo ,and i like to get to the bottom of things ,it could be because im on the cusp of virgo and it makes me analytical and critical ,i wont rest till i find out what people are really up too, what their motives are etcetera.

Scorpios ...and there are enough real life experiences. But that wouldn't necessarily make them effective at being secretive, just that they can easily unearth secrets.

Scorpio Sun or Midheaven -Highly observant; great career choice. If something passes by a scorp, it's most likey they were sleeping..lol

Pisces Moon -a little psychic intuition never hurt a great detective!

Earth Rising -a detective can't always be 9 to 5..caps are serious, professional, and very hardworking, they'll get the job done, no matter what..Virgo's are analytical, thorough, no stone unturned, Taurus can make its mark through sheer undaunting determination and the patience to do it right. *Earth will also help ground and shape all that watery sun-moon energy..

gemini can see both ends.

Anyone. I think it takes more than intuition to be a great detective, you have to be able to problem solve and persist. Among other things.

^^^^ yes...I agree with this entire comment. Scorps and Virgos make the best detectives...However, Gemini really would be their greatest competition, if only we could just stay focused/interested enough to follow through.

Capricorns coz I always find out what I want to know, one way or another...

I was about to say the same thing. My Scorpio man has AMAZING intuition, and he knows it, which makes it almost impossible for him to understand(or admit) when he's actually wrong about a hunch or a feeling. He sees his intuition as infallible...which it isn't. Part of being an excellent detective is not letting your convictions get in the way of your observations!
