Confused about a Virgo

I really like this Virgo girl.
I have just recently asked her out for a coffee but she declined.
In the msg she said that I remind her to much of her ex girlfriend witch she is finding it hard to get over.

Before all of this though I knew this girl from primary school and I had to look after her a few times in the buddy program, we had also went to high school together. But didn't really talk much because she was younger than me and we had different friends at the time.
We ended up being neighbours later in life, witch I didn't know until I saw her at a place she worked and started conversation than she told me that she sees me a lot when I went for my walks & that I was her neighbour, witch I didn't know.
She started acting weird in that everywhere I went she would be there and try to talk to me.
She would be flirtatious but also when I tried to talk she kept blushing and laughing at me even though I wasn't cracking a joke or being funny.
Anyways my question is what does she mean about the ex thing is it good or bad?
These weird signs I feel like I'm getting from her is it possible that she might like me a little?
And will she change her mind about her feelings towards me later down the track?

she likes you and is giving you attention. Give it to her let her know you want to get to know her more but keep your distance at the same time

I have been keeping my distance from her for I think she needs her space and time after her brake up as well!!! The heart needs to heal itself & that takes time.
I just don't get the whole I remind her of her ex thing?.
Every person in society is different in there own way that's all.
I do know they left on good terms.
I just want her to like me for me not because I remind her of her ex. :/
It's just if things do change I don't know now if I should go there?
I feel like I would be competing against her ex to prove myself as a worthy person to her that's all...

But I really do like her as well.

So either she had a horrible experience or a good one to say you remind her of an ex. That's not really good because our traits or behaviour remind us of what not to do again if it ever presents itself in life.
