It's probably specific aspects in one's birth chart instead of a sign or even a whole element that can be linked to low self esteem and depression. Personal planets in hard aspect with Saturn or Pluto for example have a tendency to do this. In my case my Venus squAre Saturn weighs heavily.

Even just having a chart with a lot of tough aspects, squares and oppositions, can create inner tension that requires a lot of deep soul work to transform in a positive way. And squares or oppositions in fixed signs in fixed signs are the worst/ most difficult.

Damn. Mother nature sucks. I love warm weather and hate the cold. Brrr. When the weather is cold I get depressed. Or super lazy. The sun and warm weather keeps me fun loving though. Battle of affliction.

So true. I have 13 squares and 10 oppositions in my chart, and I've suffered from depression/low self-esteem since I was a child.

NOOOOOOO!! I'm a Cancer and I never get depressed. I don't believe in it. Doesn't work for me. I know many Cancers that never get depressed. We get Sad, we ride it out, we get over it. Signs that fight depression the most, in my opinion are prone to extreme depression.
Like Capricorns,Aquas, Geminis. I've even seen a depressed Libra. Terrible sight.
I know this Sag, was depressed for years cause his ex cheated..

I am a Taurus. I feel I try so hard and yet when I feel betrayed or my goals don't go how I want. I get depressed.

I am stable but when the cookie crumbles it's hard to recover.. I work hard to sustain a financial life style s..I work hard and just relax after which makes me lazy.. I always listen to music to keep my vulnerability in check.
