If you were broke and you had kids to feed .. would you do just about anything to get money?

Would you prostitute yourself?

Women know that this is fast, easy money .. and there's abundance of men who would pay for services.

Would you do it if you had nowhere else to turn, to feed your children and keep a roof over their head?

Stealing and begging would take time, though.

If a BJ were 50 bucks a shot .. you could have the money to feed your kids in just a few minutes. Enough to pay mortgage in a day.

I don't really see the huge issues here, from a moral stand-point that is. But that's because I'm a guy and very few women would pay to have sex with a man, no matter if you're Brad Pitt himself.

But I never understood the whole "selling your body" -logic that floats around when it comes to prostitution. You're not selling you're body, you're selling a service, be it of the sexual kind, what difference does it make if it's sexual or if you're breaking your back on a dead-end job? Sexuality is a taboo, always have been, always will be. And therefore sexual services will always be associated with something shameful. In the end it's about your own attitude. You know porn is basically the same thing. But a prostitute doesen't have to see herself on a shelf in the video store, and she's bringing in the same money a porno star does ... so you go figure.

Anyway, selling sexual services doesen't always mean intercourse, most men seem to want a quick BJ or HJ, and that's just so innocent even I think I could do it for the amount of money involved ... and I'm not even bi, or yet less gay. But that's also the reason I won't do it; you don't wanna mess with these things if you're not okay with it in terms of sexual orientation. At least as a guy. In the end, you make up your own rules.

And we are living in dangerous times, so protection is of highest importance here!

This is true too

No one knows anyone elses circumstances -- its one thing to go "this" route just because for the hell of it but its another thing to go "this" route if theres nothing else left that can be done and you have to pay rent on that day or feed your children on that day or pay anything that else life-changing important.

No one knows what they may do if they had to, so this is something to think about. Its really easy to say the opposite (because I would love to be negative about this) but you really don't know ...

If it were me who were faced with this situation -- minus the children because I don't have any -- if I had to do 'certain' favors for money, I'd hope to do it with someone that I was familiar with, not a strange ... and hopefully it wouldn't have to involve intercourse. If it came down to that, then it would have to be with someone I knew.

No, I understand. I actually knew of a girl that did this. To prevent a long story, she is still with the guy to my knowledge because after he paid for all of those things for her, she just didn't have the heart to leave him LOL!!! Its a leo friend of mine 🙂 Of course she had to do stuff in order for him to help her.

Her very last semester in college, this guy paid for it all. She didn't qualify for anything -- student aid or whatever -- and her parents wouldn't help her, so she FREAKED OUT. So the guy wrote her a check and the amount she didn't -- she was stunned because her classes cost alot.

So afterwards, he didn't demand too much from her during the semester because he wanted her to pass (on his money I guess so lol) but after she was done, she had to spend alot of time with him ... and I guess it was an even trade off.

And what happens when the $ 50 runs out? I gotta go stick another one in my mouth.

And then, I'd get some other prostitute pissed that I got into her turf.

And then, her pimp would show up at my door either demanding a bruising, or my ass for his business.

And then I'd be stuck, working nights, while my kids rotted away and learned all their terrible lessons from me and the cycle would just perpetuate.

If it were as easy as $ 50, maybe. But life isn't like that, so NO way in hell would I get involved in that kind of life. Not to mention the psychological impact it would have my kiddos...

I agree with Bella. I know things get rough in life for people, real rough. But there's always a way if you try hard enough.

It's pretty sad and a situation you'd have to have put yourself into where you have absolutely no one to turn to in a time of need.

More often than not those who turn to prostitution are just looking for an easy way out (unless you're from another country and got sold as a sex slave).

I'm sure there are situations like that where someone has no way but for the majority I just don't see that happening.

Well actually we are living in the age of internet. You don't have to go running around dark alleys to find clients. These days you can advertise via a homepage and nobody will bother you because nobody will even know who or where you are. Sure, sometimes internet is a dangerous place, but you talk to your clients over the phone before an appointment. It is up to you if you want to meet them. It is up to you what you want to charge them. And it is up to you what you're willing to do. But the amount of money men are willing to put down on these services you could easily pay your rent on a couple of BJ. Just a thought.

However, women who usually do these services will develope a love/hate relationship towards the opposite sex, so it is not as clean of a deal as I'm making it out to be. But I'm not saying that there aren't prostitutes who aren't satisfied with their line of work. Holland among some other countries have legalized it; you pay tax, you have your "bordello" backing you up, you have legal rights and everything. But I don't know how these "workers" feel deep inside, from what I've heard, before a girl can enter the business she must go through some sort of psychological evaluation. I read this in some magazine where they had this huge story about how prostitution works in Europe.

If I were in that situation I'd consider selling myself as an option. Of course, there would be certain conditions that I would apply to the whole scenerio. It wouldn't make sense to put myself and my children in danger by selling myself to random men that I don't know. There are many dangerous people out there, and I'm sure prostitutes encounter a lot of them. I wouldn't want my family to be the next news story, where someone finds my body in the woods and now the kids have no parents. If I were able to find a select few people that I could trust to be safe, I'd do it. I'd more than likely try stripping before prostitution. Strippers can make killer money and the environment would be much safer.

This is a VERY interesting topic! I'd like to shed some light on a few things though...I live in the city where stripping is more common than working a 9-5. When I first moved here, I thought that strippers where whores and low life, weak willed women....I remember going out on a date with a young man and having this same discussion about strippers. He kept stating that he didnt see the big problem with dating/marrying a stripper. This shocked me and I pretty much callled him stupid for thinking this way. About 45 minutes into this heated debate, he revealed to me that his mother was indeed a stripper at one point...WTF? I could not beleive it. Yet at the same time I kept meeting women that either were actively working as dancers OR had once worked as a dancer.

Now Im your average, girl next door. I didnt grow up in a supper strict household BUT my morals and values are set to a high standard, and I DO have faith in a higher power. So when my back is up against the wall I'd like to think that selling services/dancing is the easy way out....I sometimes believe that one is faced with adversity to bring a stronger, more focused self out. For some women the focus is on their "package", especailly if the package is a beautiful one. Now for others the adversity may make them seek out an extra job, or resort to selling/pawing electrical devices to make ends meet or something of that sort.....But what happens when you and 500 other co-workers get laid off indeftly?? Your out of a job and you still have to pay mortgage, car payments, childcare, so on and so forth....some women just would rather fall back on a sure thing than to go with out. And some women would rather just go with out.

Also, most strippers at least in my city...."trick off". Its nothing new or shameful...to them. I've learned to accept it but it took me years to understand. I stopped hating on them awhile ago too. Shit, there are too many strippers/escorts that also attend college and are able to support their families...so whatever floats your boat is the name of the game...However, although I have the beautiful "package" I just cant see myself on stage butt ass naked and in walks a feds colleague....Im all about my reputation. I DO plan on marrying one day *smiles*
