mon & fri, should i bike or get back into running? i was thinking of buying a bike.

Well it depends. Both are very good ways to work on your cardio. The thing with a bike is you have to pedal faster and travel longer distances while running is bad for the knees during extended periods. Not to mention to get a high grade bike is expensive as hell and will burn through your wallet like last night's trip to the buffet.

Yea, I'm leaning toward a bike. Running is bad for your knees when you do it on concrete. The track will be a bit out of the way, especially since I do my workouts in the AM, right before work.

You got any idea what kind of bike you want? A 10 speed maybe lol? You're in NY so the drivers would probably run you over.

What do you think? I dunno much about what to look for in the quality of bikes.

haha Oh, I know. When I am driving, bikers never fail to piss me the hell off. Gaah! Now I'm turning into one of them!

Apparently, the more expensive one seems better but that's because it's expensive, it should be better. Depends on your budget. The aluminum one weighs a little less so unless your;e going up a flight of stairs and don;t feel like lugging it around and stuff the first one. But then again aluminum isn't as strong as steel. Although the cheaper one has a lifetime warranty on the frame and fork so you could easily get it replaced. The main factors in your decision would be cost and longevity then dependign on whther or not you'll be riding for short periods in your life or it becomes a life style for you.

I once had a bad experience with a bike bought from Walmart. One time I was riding it down my street as fast as I could (without a helmet of course 😢) shifted a gear up, and the chain popped, causing my body to launch forward and tilt the bike forward until I fell over the handle bars. I landed flat on the rough gravely part of my street, skidded for at least 6 inches, probably closer to a foot, and banged my head into the asphalt. I'm suprised I didn't get knocked out, only scrapes on the left side of my body at my arm, waist, thigh, and a bleeding gash at my head.

Moral of this story: wear a helmet, and I don't know about you, but I don't trust Walmart bikes anymore.

^That's one manly bike story. Where do you suggest she get one then? I know custom is expensive and specialty shops are hard to find.

I'm thinking a sporting goods store. Or for that matter, any place that sells bikes that aren't put together like crap. Anyway, she's a big girl, I'm sure she can get what she needs, I'm just sharing advice. Walmart bikes have a reputation of either being substandard quality or worse yet potentially dangerous. Hell, you can verify that rep within a few seconds on Google.

whatss up everybody? i am a sagittarius. not to mention a full out astrology fanatic. and i know a lot about it. not even from like? research; but because i am so interested in everyones sign. theres three questions i HAVE to know when i first meet someone; to decide on whether or not i'm intereted. 1.
