Anyone in here read this novel? And could you relate to Meursault's world-view or did you just feel he was half a human, maybe a sociopath? As for myself I could totally relate to everything Meursault said, thought and did. And I do not think he is a sociopath, it doesen't fit the puzzle. I see it more like a novel of the existential philosophy than a realistic, psychological character study. No one is THAT disattached from their emotional life!
One must take into consideration the times. Camus was killed in an auto accident in I think 1957. so the story was writen I thnk not to long after the WWII. I am also not to sure of the translation it was in french.
