bad crab!

I can't believe it...I'm truly angry with a crab.....a cancer friend at work betrayed me....
I've been having a problem with a gemeni woman since I started at my job and it just keeps getting worse...no matter what the woman does to me [physical and verbal assaults, refuses to de her job [she's an assistant on my accounts] and racist remarks...]my employers wont' do anything....they make ME apologize to HER. This woman is so bad that she makes people in the office choose sides, and she approached my cancer friend a while back and told her that if she continued to remain friends with me then she couldn't get along with her. My cancer friend ignored her and the woman's best friend in the office, who works in the same department as my friend, started causing problems and lying to their boss about her....my friend has been regularly reporting problems to her boss, and a week ago the gemeni woman told her that she hates my guts and that I get special privelages because the mamanger likes to look at me [neither is true - I don't get any special privelages and I hardly have any contact with that manager] and told her again that she has to choose sides..... now, after NUMEROUS complaints and many arguments in the middle of the office with this woman the managers decided to have us meet with a "coach" who was supposed to help us get along with each other....the gem was acting like everything was great and she was really trying hard to get along with me - I told this coach and our supervisor that I was willing to try what he told us to do, but that I wanted to make it clear I felt she was faking her cooperation and it wouldn't last.
Our last meeting with the coach was only a month ago and now this happens! my friend sent an email to her boss describing what happened and gave me a copy of it so I would not have to hear it from other people. I told her that I wasn't going to do anything at the moment, but that I felt I should talk to a lawyer in case they continue to not do anything about this woman. So now actually over a week later they have done nothing...and my "friend" comes to me and tells me that they're going to handle HER situation so she'd rather I didn't use this for MY case because she just wanted them to leave HER alone.....

and this coming from someone who keeps telling me how I'll be glad to have her as a friend because she's so loyal and will stand up for her friends no matter what.........GRRRRRR!!I just needed to vent about it.....

I don't need to slap her back into place...if that is how she wants to be then it's her problem.....

yeah, I've been ducmenting as much as possible.... but some stuff is didfficult....especially when coworkers who witness things won't speak up against this woman...... she's been at the company for more than 30 years and she's a real bitch..... no one wants to get on her bad side....

GApeach, I'm not sure where you're from [currently] or whether the law is the same, but in CA if I were to record or tape her without her knowledge it wouldn't be admissible. The only exception is for example when I worked for an insurance company and the employee handbook states that you can be recorded at any time. In that case the court considers you notified.

"an old biddy"....she's worse....and "old" biddy who thinks she's still in her 20s.....has the energy and attitude to be a seriosu problem.....

I have a file in my desk with the stuff I've documented...but I need to get it home. I scanned the email and forwarded it to my home email and did the same with my emails to the coahc guy so I have proof that I have tried to cooperate.

yeah LK, I work in commercial insurance, including EPLI, so I know that....I was just really trying to be cooperative....but it's pretty clear at this point they don't plan on doing anything.....

Angel... sorry to hear that. I understand?my supervisor (Virgo) is doing the same thing to me right now. She didn't like me from the beginning because I don't kiss her arse like the rest. I keep out of office politics and mind my own business, something she dislikes because she loves gossip.

Your friend is basically covering her ass. One of my closest co-workers did the same thing to me; she sits right next to me and sees everything that goes on with the Supervisor and me. The other day I was very angry and started to talk to the co-worker and she said ?look, I don't want to get involved, keep it to yourself.? As close we may be to someone at work they are not looking at it from a friend's perspective, in reality they do not want to jeopardise their job for anyone else's problems. This is typical of friends in the work place, that's why I try to avoid making personal relationships with people that I work with. They will disappoint you, whether to compete with you to get a promotion, or by just plain selling you out to get props.

It is very unfair... your situation and mine. Unfortunately, there is very little that can be done. The Gemini is a veteran in that place and she has probably done this before to someone else. In another similar case, I tried going to Labour office on a past employee but the stress... money and documenting that is required was really not worth it at the end of the day. Your only hope would be if she left, you left or you get transferred. Because these people don't change, in seems that once they have it out for someone they always will and they will do whatever it takes to make your time at work hell. Is there anyway that you can get transferred away from this woman? Otherwise, hopefully she will get tired of hating you and find some other victim. In the main while, cover your back and do everything you can to support yourself when the sh*t hits the fan.

It must be a Taurus thing because I was in the bathroom when 2 other Tauruses from other teams were venting about their supervisors doing the same thing to them. And I see them around and they are always the ones who stay late and are running around the office being productive. But because of a supervisor that can't stand them they get bad appraisals.

I can't really transfer away from her - this problem between us has spilled over into the rest of the office, plus I have job security where I am because I have the largest book of business in the office, if not the company. That's why I don't want to have to leave, because a secure position is hard to find right now. Ohterwise I'd have quit and already filed a lawsuit.....

I actually had a discussion with my supervisor about this on Firday...she knew something was going on but said she didn't know what exactly [I would have thought someone would have told her since it directly involves two of her team members..... there you go...not handling things...] she said she doesn't believe the woman would say things like this... my first thought was "oh she has you fooled alright.... this is exactly the kind of thing she says all the time..."

of course I don't know if she really doesn't believe it or she's just trying to challenge the credibility of the complaint...

yes, people on my "team" but they don't want to get involved.Other people in the office hear stuff, like what she says when I'm out, but they don't want to get involved either [like this cancer chick] the only person who has said they would be happy to get involved is one who works on the other side of the office and doesn't hear what she says, just hears people around the office talking about it. Unfortunately that isn't helpful.

The time we got in a fight in front of our whole team and she put her hands on me I went into the managers office and told him there was a problem that needed to be dealt with immediately. He told us to each go somewhere private and wait for the supervisor to get in. I went downstairs and outside the building and she went straight back to her desk and started talking to the rest of the team about it.....by the time we got around to having a meeting I was told not to talk to anyone about what happened, and from what my supervisor told me my team was saying, the "partyline" was much different than what actually happened.

Dayum... that sucks. Working in that can of environment can be so stressful. I hope you find some solution to this problem soon. Unfortunatly for "ms. thing" Karma is a Biatch!
