A friend loaned me an African American Guide to the Zodiac. Of course I read the Cancer part first. It's honestly a great book with lots of cultural phrases that many African Americans could agree and relate to.

Possibly my favorite line:

"If you've ever talked to a person to whom you felt compelled to pour out your soul, it was probably a Cancer"

Very true. I'm the "go to" person when you need to vent

lol

Here ya go!

The Cancer Child

"Which brings us to racism and the theory of black male prowess. Although at times Cancer teenagers can be influenced by friends, they are generally independent thinkers. They generally make their own decisions about such nonsense and won't buy into a bunch of stereotypical innuendo. Cancer children are very observant, and they keep their eyes and ears open. If parents are discussing such issues at home, the Cancer child will listen intently, picking up bits and pieces wherever possible. These children understand the ramifications of racism in America. They usually have understanding beyond their years."

The Cancer Man

"Although black people love to jump sharp and be dressed, Cancer men are the casual dressers. This brother would rather wear a jogging suit than a Brooks Brothers suit any day. They just don't understand what all the commotion and fuss is about. If they're white-collar workers, working hours will probably be the only time you'll see them dressed--except maybe for church"

"The Cancer brother likes a woman to be somewhat intelligent, although it's not a requirement. Physical contact is important. The Cancer brother has an excellent memory and will remember every detail if a chance meeting. When you happen to see this brother years later, he'll be able to tell you how the two of you met and even what you talked about"

The Cancer Woman

"One of the first things that has to happen with a Cancer woman, is she must feel you're being yourself. Her antennae are always up and she can spot a phony a mile away, so don't even go there. Cancer women love strong men. They want the man in a take-charge mode. This sister must feel a sense of protection similar to what a child feels when a parent hugs and cradle her. The Cancer sister also wants a classy man."

Buy the book, it's worth it! Lots of funny scenario stories!
