Let's say you mentioned earlier this year to your Mom that you will take her to vacation this year in the summer. Then something beyond your control came up that can delay the vacation to the Fall instead of the Summer. Will you be totally disappointed with yourself and go into depression?

I have seen this happening in real life and I want some advise as to how to talk my friend out of her depression. At this point, all I did for her was to reach out to her hand and said your Mom will understand but she wasn't convinced. We have a b'day gathering to go this weekend and she didn't want to go anymore because she wants to stay home and be depressed. As a friend, I'd like to be able to say something of comfort/encouraging but I don't know what. At this point, I incline to let her do what make her comfortable and my absent will probably help her more. But I'm not sure if this is right. So, please crab fellows out there, help me be a good friend to my lovely crab girlpal.

Well it if it was really important, like business, than the Mom would understand. Like it depends on why it was postponed. I mean if the money is bad, than that's understandable. I think you should talk to her mom, & her mom can surely let her know it's no big deal. Let your Cancer friend know that her mom won't hate her for her decision. Also try complimenting her for not waiting to the last minute to tell her mom they can't go. Now that would have been worse lol. Also its not like they aren't going at all. They are still going on that vacation, & that's all that matters. Just be sincere & let her be for awhile ok

Also offer her her favorite foods. Or take her out for lunch at her favorite place. Food always get a Cancer in good spirits. We love food or favorite snacks. If she don't wanna go out for lunch, offer to buy her favorite snacks & hug her if she's feeling down. Cancers love Hugs too. After you do that, just let her soak that in. Eventually she'll come out her shell 🙂

BI,

Thanks for sharing. Exactly, you're right. My tendency is to leave her alone when she gets like this. She usually will come around and be her cheerful self again. I just hope that she does it soon, Saturday will be good. 😄 It won't be a party without my cancer pal. Maybe I'll bake her a healthy version of snicker doodle.

Hubby is a cancer too but he has no help in this dept. If I ask him, all he will say is that cancer girls tend to be too weepy compare to the cancer guys. I know that's unfair of course but I won't tell him that I disagree. He has this little room in his mind to which he will go in and shut everybody else, especially me. 😄

@Denver: They live in the moment and that's what I like about them. Kind of like Aries with a lot more emotion shown. Emotion toward other people I mean which in this case is her Mom.

@2BlackIndian3: what a great coincidence that what you wrote is exactly what I had in mind. Who says that virgo and cancer can't be in-sync. lol. I think you're right, she will come of it before Saturday, I hope chocolate cookies help.

@kissmygrits: yeah you're right but I think she is more focus on the fact that she is about to disappoint her Mom. She wants her Mom to have a little of distraction especially after the loss of her father. But life happens when you plan for something else. I hope October gets here soon. In the meantime, I'll bake her some cookies.

@VirgoDragirl lol yeah I know what you talking about with Virgos & Cancers. I love Virgo women too. Chocolate chip cookies would be perfect for her 😉. Make sure the cookies are super soft & warm. But them in a nice pink bag lol. Just let her know its going to be ok & that at least her & her mom have trip still planned. I'm glad I could help. She'll be outta that Shell soon
