I'm curious as to what you picture...
Domestic: reminds you of home, security... liking to cook, stay in, fuss over you, etc. That's what it means to me.
Taken home to the parents is a compliment to me. However, if someone only brings home people they are serious about, and you're not ready/interested in that, better to not go. My family just liked meeting whomever was in our lives, so even if it was just once or a few times, they never thought of the person as a potential family member. But I come from a big, loud Italian family and it's normal to drag people over, lol.
