Isn't is your security blanket, though? Like how can you protect yourself from impending doom if you don't remember you been thru it before.

I don't think you necessarily need to break the cycle, just work on changing how you view it.

I believe that is like a double edge sword... because they do remember everything which prevent them from getting hurt again but also remember the good old times of something that it didnt work can prevent them to move on

This is true but I think to an extent. The further removed that are from that " good thing", the less tightly they hold on. I'm seeing it play out with my cancer guy. Its a slow, cathartic process for sure.

I know you mean well and not making fun. I do remember everything but it's really hard to stay in the moment and be happy when a memory knocks the wind out of you. I'm talking about Time Hop pulling up a pic with Dad (he passed away a couple of years ago) or pics of a person I was seeing that I screwed up the relationship with so yeah double edged sword.

The movie It's Complicated is my dream life. But that garden is fake. No way you can make that rotation perfect. Then I looked it up and yes the set designer grew all of the plants in a green house then had them arranged in that french potager layout rotation. She would have to have someone out there all day every day pulling weeds and treating bugs for 5 years with multiple season rotations for it to be that perfect. It takes 2 rorations for the bugs to leave the veggies alone mostly. Still though that movie is awesome. I want that house but smaller.
