What I'm looking for is feelings on the subject. Hard to express, hard to get past. Where is the breaking point. Does he see things I don't. Just what is he looking for at this point?

To hear my man tell it, he is so afraid of getting burned again. He was solo for 4 years before I met him. Now it's more than 1 1/2 years later for us. Do I love him? Yep, but he doesn't believe me. We have excellent times together but I'm the one being impatient. Frankly, I started this relationship immediately after my divorce and I feel he's holding this over my head, but he sure acted like he wanted it, too. There are things I will do for him that he will not do for me (his family holds a lot of sway here; the things his dad has told him about women) and I have evidently come across as something he has never had. His little boy side pops up a lot. He tried to call it quits twice and then sits on himself hard because he gives up too soon; the self-pity trip. He pushed me to leave once then called me back. Sometimes I wonder what I'm waiting for. He is used to being alone; he says it's better than getting his heart broke. But it seems if I justifiably get mad at him he pulls me closer to him; by the same token, if I try to pull him to me, he pulls away. Lot of see-sawing here. It's when I act like I don't give a damn that he wants me.

I am divorced with two kids, good job, mortgage, decent living. He has never been married, several years younger, owns his home, somewhat of a tightwad, lives 300 feet from me. His sister is right around the corner and is very protective of him.

What do I want? The emotional committment I didn't have in the marriage. What do I think he wants? All the time in the world to make up his mind if he can give me that.

I know these people...I know what it takes...Maybe I need to do what it takes.

it's not fair to you to be waiting and hopeing...proving yourself and constantly having to be the one who's understanding and left in the dark..huh!!! those cancer's...have you told him yet...he doesn't have the balls to be open and up front with you?? that was good advice someone gave me and when the timing is right..I'm going to do it and watch the tidal wave..he's got it coming..they don't like confrontations..?? because then they would have to explain their actions/selves..God forbid..they should come out of their shell for us to see what they are really about...neither one of us should settle for less then we give and less than what makes us happy...we've all been hurt at one time or another..This is a short trip we are on and it needs to be a happy loving one...Don't let that *little boy*devil show up to give you the guilts(I know it well)it maybe a man-thing *smile*

his sister must think he needs protection for some reason(no insult intended)maybe because it's her brother or he's his own worst enemy(like most cancer's are);( do you get along with her?? maybe you should make friends with her and have her on your side 🙂)
well!! I ran on enough..I just hate what cancer's do to us scorps * pisces...because they can and they know it..let's make a pact to show our other compatiable sign 😉 we love them.... but no more """crap""" let's stand up to them and let them try to figure what we are thinking and feeling...keep them guessing..😉 😉

Takes a leap of faith sometimes, but you're always tougher than you think.

First it was virgo bashing on the virgo board, now it is time for crab dissection. 😢 Well the high in demand delicious crab is a very delicate meat and has only a shell for self-protection. Whereas the Fish has speed to escape and swim in circles when in fae of danger & scorp has that poisonous sting or the eagle among them can fly high in the sky .... LOL

Sigh!! each to his/her own experience. Here in east the word "cancerian" brings a cheer.

Well,

Supper went well; plenty to eat and drink. Played Texas Hold'em till around 10:00 and then everyone left but the Crab. The Crab sits and waits. The Crab sends telepathic messages. The Crab is led to another room......damn.....those hands.

He goes and gets the paper this morning. Takes me to Home Depot to get some things because I don't have a damn nice truck. Helps me hook my satellite up. Calls me 'sweet tater'. Offers to help me do some other work in my house. Talks about going to my sister's place around Shreveport for a weekend.

On the way home, I burned a hole in his upholstery with my cigarette. I felt awful.

He said nothing, just gave me a hug.

My best friend says I should just keep my mouth shut and let things ride for awhile; take care of myself and the kids; don't be so available; do my own thing.

If he wasn't practically next door, this would be so much easier.

You are so right..it's our personal experiences that give us attitudes towards groups or classes of people
well ..your right again--the fish has speed to swim ..even around in circles..bUT THE FISH DON'T GIVE UP EASY.(at least this one doesn't and hates to)..but if the water/pond/river runs dry..the fish can no longer swim...and that will leave crabs.. seeking water too 🙂..but they are like camels (an Aquarian) they can go along time and not drink...this isn't meant to be cold reasoning..just personal experiences..😢

oh my god lady dane... i felt like i was reading your story as if it was my own the last lines about commitment and wanting all the time in the world to decide... thats my guy!!!!

Things are starting to change a little. I'm starting to hear some of the little things I've been waiting to hear for so long. It doesn't stop me from being myself...I just ride with it.

He got the seat in his truck fixed yesterday where I had burned it. He asked me to pick him up, which I did, and he gave me gas money. Nothing else was said except he's planning to take me on another trip.
