This is a question to all my fellow Cappy's....
Do you ever get told by people that you only tune-in to the parts of a conversation that interest you, otherwise you just change the subject or zone out?
Ive had a number of people over the years tell me that I "Only hear what I want to hear"
They are of-course correct, if im engaged in some kind of conversation that I find uninteresting, I do tend to switch myself off AND im told it's visibly obvious, and as one person said "Obvious to the point of being rude"

Is it a Cappy Thing or is it just me —

I do it, but I dont think its noticeable....Atleast I hope its not.

My Cap friend does it to me ALL the time. I pretend Im listening to him, he doesnt even try to pretend he's listening to me smh. I sit on the phone rolling my eyes or drifting faaar away while he talks, when its my turn to talk he clearly tunes me out or give "time to wrap it up" signals. We only listen to eachother when it comes to relationships.

LoL! Yep, thats how it usually goes. I atleast wat a little longer than 25secs before drifting though lol.

I even manage to tune myself out and think of other things when "I" talk. I actually think this might be obvious to others. My Cap friend does that as well I think. He'll be in the middle of talking about or explaining something, pause, and say "what was I saying?" Half the time I cant help because I wasnt listening smh.

My Dad Is another example. I tend to forget he's a Cap lol, but he'll tune you out in a second. I think he's more obvious with it. He's the type that'll get up and walk off to the next room or out the door saying "oh yeah?" before he leaves.

ROFLMFAOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I'm guilty of this. Ugh, I hate it. And I know it's noticeable. Friends and fam have all at some point said to me... "you're not even listening anymore are you" or something to that effect.

When people start saying the same thing over and over in different ways, or going on about something we've already covered, or if you've filled up my daily quota already for time spent listening to your problems... jk... I'm rarely just sitting around talking/listening to someone. I'm always doing something while listening... 92% of the time. I will get distracted at some point. Appy polly logies in advance.
