the cap guy I like and I were chatting online today, he's out of the country. He was telling me about some expensive shit he bought, that he likes expensive stuff etc etc

He works out, and sometimes he shows me his pics and starts asking how hot do I look here? I never say it, I always make a joke or say something funny. But he keeps doing the same, probably trying to get me to say something nice to him about his looks.

So how do you deal with this? I mean of course he looks good in the pics but its against my principles haha to inflate anyone's ego.

What do you think?

How old is he? Yes, some hot Cap guys can be very cocky but secretly insecure. Sounds like he needs a lot of reassurance. I would change the subject.

He's 40.

That's what I do changing the subject, but for how long I can do that before looking silly? Especially if its what you said, insecurity and not just an inflated ego.

Meh, if he looks good tell him he looks good.
If he looks particularly good in one pic say so, once he's had some reassurance he will probably stop....
Doesn't hurt to pay someone a compliment, it's not a commodity that's gona run out anytime soon.
Costs you nothing right? yes it sucks when it feels like they're really fishing, but just once won't hurt.

Probably just trying to impress you and seeking reassurance. Caps need a lot more reassurance than we let on.

Don't go overboard with complements though, it would ring false.

Ugh that IS a cap man thing, and I have no effing clue why. Last guy seriously would always go through the same process of validation-seeking with me: "I gained five pounds" (I never noticed this ever,btw, he was always super muscular and in shape). "I can't tell" (me). "No but I did, I weighed myself" (him). Then he would ask me how he could lose weight. It was either this or he'd tell me how he just worked out the night before, whenever I'd see him, and he'd flex for me. He constantly asked me if he was the best in bed, best in shape I'd ever had, etc. Always. He also told me whenever he was hit on. This all got really effing old, and his insecurities made him cheat too. I had a soft spot for his vulnerabilities, but not when they started showing up in how he treated ME.

holy shit sounds like my guy rofl he is in shape and muscular but instead of going with the I gained weight he's more of a 'Im hot, dont you think? all the girls are after me, if I got o a store to buy something they're all over me' 'girls are drooling and posting lots of comments and likes in the social networks' and shit like that, all the time. Or how his muscles here or there are in perfect shape. And then of course the questions 'I look hot in this pic dont you think?' 'do you like the way I look in this pic?' and similar haha

so, if supposedly all these girls go crazy for him everywhere, give likes to his pics and comment good posts... why he keeps asking my opinion about it. Maybe he's after good comments of people he cares for? or maybe as Truecap said, he's also seeking reassurance. Or maybe its a mix of both things.

It may seem that way but...

We actually pay attention to details, so we switch up what we do to see who is actually paying attention, and guess what— No one really does. So, the one that do are more respected and get positive reactions from us. The rest are just to stupid or in their own problems to notice so they are less important to us.

I think you should compare the picture and mention a noticeable difference you see. Just notice the difference. Don't lie neither. Straight truth.
