Unhappy Father?

So.... I am in no way trying to offend the Capricorns here - but I'm hoping for a bit of insight into my father.

He never, ever, ever seems satisfied or pleased with anything. It's like there is no winning with him.
The simplest example I can give is this: my parents live in a small town, and my dad is always so bored, if anyone in the family (out of town) suggests something for us to do together, he seems to come up with a way to bitch about how that even if that were to solve the problem it is introducing more problems. It's so predictable what his responses are going to be.

The only reason I'm suggesting this is on the cappy side of him is because I have recently paid attention to his chart and he's overwhelmed with cappy stuff.

Does anyone see anything in his chart that might explain/suggest some sort of solution to how to please him? Maybe there is some sort of awful aspect going on? I'm at a loss...

Well ... Capricorns are supposed to be negative people (watch everyone I said supposed, so just going with astrology here :p ) and with all the placements in his chart I guess it explains itself. Also the high standards, and the not easily impressed attitiude ... but I thought they are supposed to loosen up with age ... so hmmm ...

It's funny you say that, because I thought that too about the loosen up with age thing.

He HAS loosened up with age, he seems to be in a funk right now though where he's falling backwards a bit in his progress.
He has great intentions, and a lot of great positive qualities. It's just so overwhelming right now with this negativity... I think I can actually see the stink/rain cloud surrounding him! haha

I showed my mom what you had to say (as she is the one that deals more directly with him on a daily basis, and is struggling a lot with it lately) - and she said it all rings very true except for the part about sharing of problems of others — he can't see past his own world — it doesn't apply to him.

She's a Sag... and most of the time I wonder how they even work! haha. But they've been married for 37 years. So there's something there that works. I think a lot of it has to do with her mutability though. Perhaps conceding to him too much is partly the problem??

capricorn is competitive perfectionist BUT a capricorn can let go of that if they logically conclude it is wrong..primarily a capricorn loves logic and common sense. Im a capricorn and all my competitive critical minds were subdued because I decided to remove them with logic ie use earth element to remove my shortcomings

I also decided to be more positive and used logic to develop that new way the best approach is to discuss with incontrovetible logic on these topics with him. For example it is logically impossible that the world will be perfect and it is also logical that if someone is only happy when things are perfect they are not going to be a very happy person. Logic says happiness is right and the most important thing. If you are heavy and negative your logic is not sound and needs reassessing.
Another logic is that it is immoral to always see other people as faulty and insufficient. Once one has mastered the earth element they will be in harmony with others not in conflict with them wanting them to 'change'. If you are not happy and healthy your logical conclusions are incorrect and you are not stood on the earth ..you are stood on a wobbly table that plagues you
