I dreamed I was wearing a wooden ring which seemed to be my favorite (though IRL, I don't even own a wooden ring.) Someone I couldn't see clearly, suddenly appeared and hurled a hard object, like a ball, at me which I caught in one hand. The hand wearing the wooden ring. The impact of the projectile broke the wooden ring and it fell off my finger in two perfect halves which clattered on the floor.

Interpretation anyone?

Thank you for sharing your dream 🙂

A wooden ring is unusual, I don't think I have ever seen one in my life (well except for curtain rings, haha)

What I find interesting is how these objects you described are both spherical. One is hollow (ring) and has sentimental value, and the other one is hard unpredicted and full (the ball)

You caught the full object and broke the hollow one. This incident sort of caught you by surprise, but you weren't able to keep both.

I kind of see an analogy of the past and future, maybe.

Does this ring (no pun intended) something in you?

It's my first time interpreting a dream too 🙂

People should post more in this section, it's interesting! I love symbolism in general.

Haven't had a dream in a while as well...

I do feel there is some game changing event in this dream.

Wood is solid, but not as solid as metal. It can be consumed, and be dented easily, but it's unusual for it break in half.

It did represent a sentimental value for you, and I agree with InstantKarma with her interpretation of a warning of some sort.

I use this dream dictionary for interpreting dreams:

http://www.dreammoods.com/

Basically, you write down the key words from a dream - and while mixing the interpretations of those given words - you should be able to deduce how that dream fits into your life (what it means). Usually, it's related to upcoming changes or the stuff that you repress (the stuff you might be avoiding and pushing it down into your subconscious) - so it comes out as a dream.

For above dream - you have the next key words:

Ring

To see or receive a ring in your dream symbolizes emotional wholeness, continuity, commitments and honor. If the ring is on your finger, then it signifies your commitment to a relationship or to a new endeavor. You are loyal to your ideals, responsibilities, or beliefs.

To dream that your ring is broken indicates that your loyalty is called into question. Alternatively, a broken ring symbolizes an end to some relationship. There is a loss of commitment.

Wood

To dream of wood suggests that you are feeling dead and emotionless inside. Your behavior is too automated. You are not fully thinking things through. Alternatively, the dream may be a pun on "getting wood" or sexual arousal.

These are all interesting interpretations of my dream. I'm not in a relationship. My rings are mostly metal ones, gold & silver. I do have a glass ring from Iceland which I like because it's so unusual. When I was a kid, I DID buy a wooden ring at the dime store and I really loved it. I have no clue what happened to it. Probably, I grew out of it when I grew up and moved onto other rings. I wore the ring on my ring finger of my RIGHT hand in my dream, so it wasn't like a relationship ring. Wood is symbolic of the 5 year anniversary. But I haven't been with anyone for 5 years to celebrate that. But could there be a connection to the number 5 = Jupiter which is my favorite go to number?
