I used to have very vivid dreams. Now I have maybe twice a year. I really miss them. I have sleep apnea and I think it may be connected. I have a cpap now, but it didn't make a difference. I've also been in a divorce related depression for many years, over it now. No medications involved.

I have heard what science has to say about it and it just settles down to "try to jot down things after you wake" but I remember nothing.

Is there any insight anyone has on this from other perspectives?

I used to have very vivid dreams - and yes, the cpap (which I have also) makes a difference in that it allows you to properly "sleep" meaning you are in deeper REM than you ever were before but this is the way it's supposed to be - we had it backwards you see -

so - remembering so many of our dreams was due to the lack of proper REM deep sleep ... now that we are normal and older, I don't remember many dreams anymore - they are still there, we just don't remember them and relax, after awhile you won't even care ...
