Monokini vs. Bikini

Hey all!

Im in official swim wear shopping mode. Lol. I want to get a white swim suit. I am debating between a monokini style and a bikini.

I am 5'9. I have pretty long slim legs that are slim. A little tummy. But hopefully by the time I get ready to wear it (4th of July) the tummy will be gone! Lol. I have somewhat of a big chest. I wear a 34C/d bra. I DO have a little back fat that I hate. I guess I have somewhat of an hour glass figure...

I was wondering if there is a specific body type that is best for the monokini. If so, do I soyund like I do better with the monokini or the bikini. I was looking at some monokinis online. If I were to get one, iwould not get one that is very revealing. One that is sexy yet modest. Lol.

im gonna be honest...im not loving the monokini on anybody. i also think they probably look best on really thin girls because the suits generally have large cut outs on the sides and that draws attention to the waist and stomach. while that's flattering for somebody who has a more boyish/straight body and wants to create the illusion of more defined curves, i think it might be overkill for a curvy girl.


LOVE white bikinis though. get a bikini bottom that ties on the sides so that you don't have to worry about muffin tops and back fat (don't tie it tight so it's not cutting into your skin). a halter top is also more flattering if you've got boobs to support.

do you have a picture of a monokini that you are looking at in particular? they are all very different so the cut is key

You didn't say natural, are you going to be doing some serious swimming or is this more for lounging about and working it?

I like these, but I lean towards more retro in feel. 🙂

Venus - Those are WAY cute. I am just going to be lounging around and doing a little swimming. But nothing to rigorous. I found two way cute ones! How were you able to get the images to show in the reply. I am trying to do that same show I can show you what I will probably end up getting.

This is the one that I think I am going to get. I tried it on last night and it fit so cute. I was scared that the top would not provide full coverage, but it did! The top kind of slides so that the triangle part can be adjusted..narrower or wider. Obviously i spread it out as wide as possible and it fit good. I did jumping jacks and the whole nine in the fitting room to make sure my goods would not pop out. Worked out pretty well! Lol.
