So there's an episode of Seinfeld where Jerry is dating a girl and she's always wearing the same outfit every time he see's her. How often do you rotate your clothes? Or how long do you wait to wear an outfit again? I seriously have this dilemma all the time because between my group of friends and my boyfriends 2 groups I know I can get away with wearing something over again. People really only see me on the weekend and I wear work clothes all week so it feels like I'm rotating clothes because it's been a full week since I wore a pair of jeans. I'm totally aware of what people wear too and I always notice when I??ve seen an outfit before (haha one of my snob tendencies). Do you think guys even notice this stuff?

i've been mixing and matching a lot of the same clothes in my wardrobe since i was 18... and i get away with no one noticing! i slowly, and carefully, add new items. what's even weirder is that i pretty much never intend to have things go so well together. i might have one item in mind when trying clothes on (let's say that i'm interested in a shirt that will go well with a particular skirt in mind). after i purchase an item, and try it on with the intended article i own, i will really start to play around with it or have these fashion epiphanies. i will realize that the same piece i just bought would look good with another piece i have. then i start layering things and experimenting. i've found so many new outfits that way. most pieces of clothing i bought just because i liked it so much and it ended up going with many other items.

Mostly the same for me. I have those fashion epiphanies too when I need to do laundry -- as in, I don't have much to work with so I'm forced to put things together that I might normally not.

At the same time, sometimes I wish I was a cartoon so I could wear the same thing all the time. I mean I would have multiples and maybe different colors, but maybe generally the same thing(s).

My conclusion: Michael Kors is, indeed, a cartoon, and not a realy human being.

It's all about mixing & matching. It's def. tacky to wear the exact same outfit all the time, especially if it's to the SAME places OR around the SAME people too often.

For instance, if you really really really like a certain pair of pants , that's fine! If you want to wear them again, especially right after you've worn them the 1st time, that's fine, IF you chose to wear those pants with a different top & shoes the next time. The same goes vice versa with anything.

The only problem with wearing something over & over again is IF that item of clothing is VERY noticeable. For example, a friend of mine loves to wear her sparkly black leggings. The leggings stand out so much that even IF she wears a different shirt with them every time, everybody notices & thinks she's wearing the same outfit over & over again, even though she's really not. In other words, if what you want to wear again makes the outfit what it is, it's wise to only wear that specific item as less as possible.

BUT, I won't lie! If I go out to 1 spot in Chicago with a certain outfit on, I won't hesistate to wear that very SAME exact outfit in another city/state!!! Hell, the way I see it, people I've never seen/met before WON'T know that the outfit I'm wearing now is 1 that I wore last night!!! HA!

I think it's easier to get away with repeatedly wearing the same pants, scarf, accessories, etc. moreso than it is to wear the same shoes or pants. People need to remember that WHATEVER it is in your outfit that made the outfit stand out is what they'll REMEMBER the most when they see you again. So if 100 girls liked AND remembered those cute cheetah pumps you wore last month, they'll DEF. notice you're wearing the SAME 1s a month later even though it's technically a month later.

Eh. I don't care. I go through my pile of clothes and look for something clean and wear it lol joking... SOME times. But I do wear something two days in a row if it's clean and I was clean when I wore it. If I wear something after getting sweaty or stinky then it goes straight into the laundry. But I do wonder about what to wear when I go out (IF ever). There are things I wont wear until a long time passes. As long as the same outfit isn't worn 3 times in a row then it's too much. Accessories mixed with same things are always fun though.

I do have a habit of keeping track of what I've worn at where I was and who I was w/. You can't get away w/ repeating w/ fashion merch students. I do repeat wearing jeans w/out washing them, especially if it's Month 1 of breaking them in. I'll just stick em in a bag, put it in the freezer to crunch up stains & if the indigo's bleeding from precipitation, then hang them upside down before I rock em again.
