Hahahaha! Oops, I meant to add my comment before shutting down last night.

I'm a girly girl and I make NO qualms about it. Show me a fun new way to be beautified and hells yes.... I'm trying it.

If you're perfect without a stitch of makeup, visiting the nail salon is unecessary and a facial is a waste of money.... this thread might be BORING for you.

Anyhaps, I thought it would be fun to share things that you might do or know of that push your look to massively polished.

I recently got into tinting my eyebrows and eyelashes. I LOVE the results. It really gives you that Hollywood put together look. I've got some before and after pictures somewhere..... I'll see if I can track them down.

Anyhaps.... what are some of your regimens? Something out of the ordinary that I might now have tried—

Do you have a type of hair that prevents you from doing it yourself?

I do almost all my hair stuff at home! I color my own hair, inbetween coloring I do a demi-permanent to brighten the shade, and also do protein treatments to strengthen. I blow out, curl and/or straighten myself too! I trim my own bangs and front fringe along the sides and only go get a cut when my entire head needs to be shaped up.

It's tons of fun to play with products and style yourself!

I love baths too!!! I have an old school soaking tub (you can see it in one of my profile pics with my cat 🙂). What do you like to add to your bath water? I looooooove the scented epsom salts after a long day. I also like to add a few drops of tea tree oil. Because I do so much processing of my hair taking baths as opposed to showering is a must! Also, my hair is down almost to my waist so just washing it adds way too much time, lol.

I also use organic extra virgin coconut oil to moisturize my body after shower. it absorbs really well and my scars have completely faded away.

Coconut oil is like Crisco to me..... do you do anything special to it like warm it up in your hands first? Do you just buy a tub of it?

I LOVE making popcorn the old fashioned way with coconut oil, but I've NEVER thought about using it as a beauty product.

Vitamin E + B5
Aloes vera
Phytokeratin
Spirulin
essential oils (long list, french names)
Vegetal oils (mostly avocado, argan, coconut)
neutral shower gel/shampoo/body + face cream. Add in your oils.
Natural henna for color.
etc.

All organic/bio and fair trade of course.

This is pretty interesting. Perch, check this thread out too....

I was going to do this before I colored on Saturday, but I opted for doing the Aphogee protein treatment. I'm thinking about doing the oils though in a couple of weeks.

Yeah it's just regular plain yogurt. I use Greek yogurt because the texture is less watery so it'll stay on my face for 30 minutes without me having to reapply it.
You can also add some liquid honey in the yogurt for extra moisture.
Yogurt mask can brighten your sun spots/freckles and lessen your breakouts. Your skin will start to look and feel more plump and soft with regular use.

Coconut oil is supposed to be pretty amazing. There is a great book called "The Coconut Oil Miracle" which will tell you all the ways that you benefit from coconut oil. It can apparently help you lose weight, prevent heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and beautify your skin and hair.

I don't do anything special with the coconut oil. It usually comes in a glass jar and has a crystal white color to it. I would definitely choose the organic extra virgin ones over the regular ones because the quality is so much better.

I use coconut oil as a hair treatment too. (Apply it on dry hair, wait about an hour or two, shampoo twice to get the oil out, and apply your regular conditioner). this will make your hair super soft and silky. You can do it as much as you need to.

Usually the oil will melt as soon as you apply it to your skin but for the hair treatment I would warm it up a little (just put the jar in a bowl of hot water or something and the oil will turn liquidy).

That's a GREAT idea for a hair treatment. Because I have such long hair I'm always looking for new ways to soften and silkify it! The coloring and straightening is starting to take it's toll so I have to be abreast of that. The protein treatments help, but I think something like this may be a great fit.

My only thing is..... to really get moisture into the strands of your hair you need for the cuticle of the hair shaft to open up and then close locking in the moisture..... therefore, I'm wondering.... have you ever done the coconut oil and added in heat like sitting under a drying or using your blow drier?

Supers excited to try it!

I sometimes get a warm, moist (but not dripping) bath towel and wrap it around my head to seal the moisture in while I'm doing the oil treatment. But usually I'll just take a hair clip, make my hair into a bun, and put a shower cap over it so my clothes won't get dirty from oil stains. My hair seems to absorb the oil just fine even when I don't use the towel. A shower cap will do just fine (at least for me).

Jojoba oil is really good for the hair treatment as well. I always get great results. Bouncy, soft hair!

I also drink 2-3 cups of rose hip tea every single day. Rose hip tea is known as the ultimate skin-beautifying tea and it helps with period cramps too lol
I also drizzle extra virgin olive oil on just about everything from salad to pasta (must be a Greek thing lol). My grandma swears that this is what keeps her skin looking so youthful, elastic, and glowing lol
definitely an anti-aging oil.

I have to try to try the coconut oil on my skin.

I've found that inexpensive conditioners mixed with whatever oils you like work just as good as anything else. I felt light as a feather after exfoliating with coffee grinds the other day, so I'll be doing that more often. My favorite face mask so far, is a cucumber mask using this recipe.
