What kind of dips PR? Are U talking chip dips, veggie dips, fondue dips, a dip for men, etc. etc. In other words WHAT'S going to be dipped into it??!! LOL

I have great "dips" for the men category! Very tasty IMO! All kidding aside PR I have terrific cookbooks but NEVER cook(?) and they have sections for what ever "dips" one's looking for! So post back and I'll post some good ones or ask for which one's you may like and then post the recipes!

Saggie you crack me up!! I like your whole "man-dip" idea--I would think chocolate would work great for that...lol. But yes, basically I'm all about chip dips. I'd like a recipe on how to make french onion dip or perhaps a good spinach dip, that would really help me out for thanksgiving because I'm expected to help out this year. Scary, scary. lol.

Libragirl, I've seen olive bread in the store but I've never tried it, it sorta scares me, but I bet I would like it. I'm not too picky about food, just totally against beans of any kind or anything involving beans. It's the texture that bothers me. lol.

Thanks for your help girls 😛

Hey PR, now everyone knows it's not the TEXTURE of beans but rather the GAS the bothers some of us!? hahahaheeheehahaha!

As far as "man dips" my vote is on the fat free "ReadyWhip" chocolate whipped cream. Good stuff IMO! Low fat, low cal and yummy. Of course it's dependent on who it's squirted on?

And now on to your original request for a good spinach dip.... I have 2 of them for you. Both are taken from a "new and healthy" cookbook so of course if this is for Turkey day I would sub. the healthy ingredients for the real McCoy. Afterall it's only one time during the year, what can it hurt huh?

Splendid Spinach Dip

* 2 cups DANNON Plain nonfat or Lowfat yogurt
* 1 (one) 10 oz pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
* 1/3 cup fresh onion, finely chopped
* 2 tbs reduced calorie mayonnaise
* 1(one)1.4 oz pkg instant vegetable soup mix.
* assorted fresh vegetable dippers

In a medium bowl combine yogurt, spinach, onion, mayonnaise, and vegetable soup mix; mix well. Serve immediately or cover and chill up to 3 hours. Serve with vegetable dippers. Serves 24.

Herbed Spinach Dip
*1 (one) 8 oz container spreadable HEALTHY CHOICE Fat Free Pasteurized Process Herb and Garlic Cream Cheese Product
*1 (one) 10 oz pkg frozen chopped spinach, thawed, and well drained
*1/4 cup radish, chopped
*2 tbs green onion slices
*2tbs white wine
*cracked black pepper
*carrot sticks, cucumber slices, zucchini slices, etc.

Combine ingredients; mix well. Chill to blend flavors. Serve as dip with carrot sticks and cucmber or zucchini slices. Serves 24.

Hey PR I have made the Spendid Spinach Dip. It's very elegant if you take a loaf of a "round bread", cut an opening on the top, hollow out the bread/crumbs and fill it with the dip! Serve it next to a tray alternated with either veggies or an assortment of crackers or both! Your guests will love it and it it'll be the HIT & the TALK of the get- together. It's very easy and it looks soooo elegant too! Everyone will want the receipe.

Just remember to sub. the low cal/fat free ingredients with the REAL STUFF!

Ah, perfect, Saggie!! Thank you very much, I know that probably took a lot of time to type, I will be printing it out for Turkey Day = )

About the beans, I tell you in all honesty, I've never eaten enough of them to get the commonly known stomach ailment that everyone seems to get from them--I swear to goodness, I hate them so much based purely on texture, I had to spit them out (discreetly) in order to keep from regurgitating. lol.

MMmmnn...those do sound good Saggie! I love Spinach dip!
I realize that this isn't what you asked for Phoenix...but, I have a party dip recipe that is sooo super easy...just keep it in mind for sometime when it is appropriate.

2 jars of your favorite salsa (8 or 12 oz.)
1 8-oz. pkg cream cheese (I use the light)

Soften cream cheese to room temperature. Mix salsa with cream cheese, and you've got yourself a dip! Serve with tortilla chips.

Hey Star...I've had the opportunity to sample your recipe you posted and....it was amazing! They had the recipe "going in a slow cooker on low" and served it w/restuarant type "Chi Chi" tortilla chips and it went over well, above and beyond! Although it's really hard to find the Chi Chi tortillas if you know what I mean. It seems that the chi chi (restaurant) tortillas are best for your recipe. It's their texture (hmmmmm pretty much like PR's bean texture huh?? Or maybe not? depending on how one looks at it.

I think it's a classic Star! And definitely a goner no matter how it's served!

It's pretty neat in a slower cooker I must say. It get warmed enough to do the job but not over-heated if you know what I mean? Being the non-cooker that I am I was very surprised!

Those Chi Chi chips are extremely hard to find. Especially in the shape that they were meant to be in. I found a speciality shope that makes "stone ground" stuff but I was a little disappointed. Not only were they "a little crushed" but they lacked "the grease"! And isn't the whole point of having nachos based on the perfect shape and size AND grease??!!

Perhaps we could make our own? Anyone have a good recipe? Remember were looking for... texture + grease to = "epitome of nachos for dipping"! THEY MUST EQUAL (both texture and grease). It's the equivalent of like 2 people in love. They just belong and have to be together!

Here's one! It' called Chili Cheese Dip

2 /8oz packages of cream cheese(softened)

1 15oz or 19 oz of chili(no beans)

1 /16 oz package shredded chedder cheese

1 big bag of Doritos

You will need a microwave safe dish

Directions:

Layer bottom of dish with cream cheese. Spread evenly.
Next, layer chili. Spread evenly. Top with cheese.

Finally, microwave for 5 minutes on high.

To spice it up even more, you can add jalapeno peppers, green onion, or salsa.

Enjoy!

The cream cheese is a different take, but it's good!
