I'm from the south, so I frequently witness and enact random acts of kindness all the time, it tends to be cultural here. Be it far from a Southern gentleman to brag about such things though. 😛

I wasn't cautious of it, on the contrary I liked it. I was offered a job at the Alabama mill and I've accepted it. I'll be relocating down there in about 4 weeks.

You are walking down the street on a cold winter day, within your purse lies 10 individual $ 20 dollar bills and your life is in complete harmony. Your bills are all currently paid, your belly is full of nutritious food, and your body is warmed from the nice clothing you wear. As you continue to walk your path, you come across a man sitting on the side of the road. This man looks rough, like he has been beaten. His hair is unkept, he has not shaved in some time, his clothing's are worn out, and within his eyes there is a look of utter defeat. In his hands he holds a sign out for you to read. This sign says "please help, I am cold and hungry"!
How would you handle this situation? Would you scowl at him? Would you place judgement onto him without knowing what circumstances might have brought this man so far down? The majority of the United States population, would have walked right past this man without even the decency to look him in his eyes. Had we taken a few minutes of our time and asked this gentleman what had brought him here, we would have learned that this man is a United States Marine Corps Veteran and had spent two years in the Vietnam war. He answered his country's call to arms and by doing so he destroyed himself. This gentleman had to shoot and kill several human beings and the PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) he would suffer from because of this, would haunt him the rest of his life.
We are not one individual, we are one kind, the human kind. We are not rated by the size of our bank account, nor are we rated on the house in which we live. It's not my place to judge no man and no man will I judge. If I came across this man today, he would be given all the money in my wallet and I will leave knowing that I did what was right.
