I am making the claim that it is near impossible for two male Leos to be best friends. I can't speak for the ladies because the female Leo is a bit different but I'd like to hear from them as well as to their experience of having a fellow Leo bff.

I just don't think it happens because if you are Leo and find another Leo that miraculously can somehow share spotlight by some unwritten ego agreement (which I think for it to even work, it would have to be written. lol), you will be too in sync and the instant a lady walks in who you feel passionate about, so will they, and the claws are out.

Friendship over.

In fact, if there are females present, neither Leo may be particularly interested in any of them but they will STILL fight over them.

EXP:

Cracked simple witty joke in car. Chick loved it.

other leo dude: ROOOOAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!!!
me: whoa. chill out, man.

and we've known each other for a long time.

As long as a Leo has made in his mind that a certain person, place, or thing is "his" territory, it's war for any invader.

Which touches on another topic. Leo anger.

I think most people don't believe Leo's to be "dangerous" because we are the love sign, sunny, and positive yada yada.
But when I'm really mad, I want to breathe fire, throw cars, and snatch babies from mother's arms and eat them.

Have you ever "exploded" and what was it like?

Hahaha! This made me lol.

Yeah, I don't see two Leo dudes being buddy-buddy. They'd need a sidekick kind of dynamic in their friend, I'd think.

I'm not a guy, but I've never exploded. I'll implode before I explode. I was super upset at work once, and my Aries co-worker told me my eyes looked like I could set the whole world on fire. But no, I couldn't bear the thought of hurting a fly.

I lived with 3 other leos during university - for 4 years. They were definitely my closest friends while we were at school, and I still consider them pretty close even though we live in different cities now. Definitely competition over girls, among other things, but we managed not to kill each other. Maybe we were all different enough that we all had our strengths that were different than the others, so we functioned well together?

Re: the anger. I don't lose my temper very often, but when I do look out. I think your description is a fair summary lol.

i'm a female and i am friends with other leo females, but i have alot of water in me and i consider myself to be a more submissive leo in alot of cases.
i'm able to put my ego away or atleast keep it on the downlow and let the other lady take the spot light when we go out. for the most part.

with my leo bffs who understand what being a leo means, we're able to share the spotlight because we both acknowledge that we both need it.

as far i explosions of anger, i have definetly had a few of those but not many.
i don't really get angry at people unless it is well deserved, and i'm usually pretty good and controlling myself and feeling like it's not worth it.

that being said, i have had some pretty intense arguments with my taurus sun/leo rising mother, who definitely always must have the last word and does not budge in her arguments.
as i've grown older i've learned to deal with that in a better way and don't let frustration get the best of me but.. damn have there been some explosions in the past.

if a situation really, truly angers me then it fucking bubbles up inside, i know exactly what you are talking about.
most of the time i do not let it get out though (taurus mars) but it's in there, definitely.
there's nothing more i would like to do then get in a fist fight with someone who deserves it or for really pissing me off about something.
unfortunately that opportunity hasn't come about.

i don't know about leo males but i do know that aries males find it hard to be very close friends. my ex was extremely close to another aries for some years but when they fell out, it was massive and they've not spoken to each other since. even when they were close there was a little resentment from my ex's side cos the other aries was wealthy and successful and he wasn't, lol.

different gender/same sun combos work very well usually cos there's an inherent understanding between the two but i think when it's two males in friendship of the same sign, particularly with the egocentric fire signs, there's too much of an aggressive competitive edge for it to last.

My ex Leo was best friends with another Leo with the exact same birthday.
I don't think they handled it that well at all, but they kept their resentment trapped inside. Though my ex would usually be the one with the most spotlight around others.

Anyone who doesnt see the leos being dangerous has not been close to a leo. My mother and my ex were bother incredibly dangerous... So much so that a leo who had just been trying to date me, I was so sketched out by him being a leo. o.o

I had another leo ex though who was more a passive self hatred kind of leo.
