Sharing the stage with a leo man

Dear leos,

I keep coming across these descriptions of a leo man which state that in a relationship, he should always be the protagonist, at the center of the stage, right in the spotlight. For them to feel satisfied and content in a relationship, can their partner only ever take on a supporting role? Granted, we are dealing with His Imperial Majesty here, but I wonder, is this how it really is?

I ask this because I notice leos in my life respecting and even admiring aloud my independent and ambitious side. I have great respect for my leo partner, but also big plans for my own future. Our interests in this sense overlap, meaning it might become a competitive situation for us. I don't care or mind one bit, I don't feel a need to compete, I just do my own thing. But I wonder how he would react if I go full out. I wouldn't want him to feel like I'm stealing his thunder. He encourages me a lot, but I can't help but to wonder after reading about this from so many sources. Can a leo man end up feeling they are being out performed by a partner? Not saying that it would necessarily come to that, or that success in our shared interest can even be measured, just thinking about the scenario and reactions here.

Your thoughts on this would be much appreciated πŸ™‚

What sign are you?
In my experience, Leos are cool, I used to be a better snowboarder than my Leo friend, a better hockey player, but he would suck it up, he'd train as hard as he could, and do his best. From time to time he'd congratulate me. You could tell he was really sincere, because we were good friends, but there was also a slight deception. But that's the good thing about Leos, they accept "defeat" and try again. Nowadays, like 15 years after these "events", he's a kickaz kiteboarder, I saw a pic of him the other day where he's like 80 feet above the water...and I gotta say, I'm a bit jealous. But I'm happy for him, deep down I'm like, you deserve it. You're a good person, ya know?...

Hi and thanks for the input grayid2 πŸ™‚ That's a nice story, and that's the kind of reaction my intuition is telling me I'd get from him, too. Leos are such honorable people you'd think they want you to succeed and will only see it as a chance to improve themselves / set their personal standards higher. They work so hard at achieving their goals, I'm very impressed by it every time. Even with all their quirks and ego, they really are such good people and deserving like you said.. A smiling, happy leo just has this great warmth and radiance about them.

I'm a sagittarius πŸ™‚

I've been wondering about this exact thing the past few days. I never realized that the Leo I'm into is being the center of attention, actually I feel that he's not at all, which makes me wonder if he's not being himself around me or is it just his character.. cause what I read online is much different.

Glad to hear I'm not alone with this one! I can definitely tell the leos I know enjoy the spotlight to some extent, but to me they seem rather humble.. Like the attention they get just comes naturally to them, they don't try or aspire to be the center of it, or at least it doesn't seem that way. I feel like they just want everyone around them to feel good and entertained, but not in an obnoxious way.

It makes me cringe a little when I read lines like "make sure he's the center of attention, you just support him". My personal experience is that the more I hold the attention in a social setting, the more the leos seem to gravitate to me and want to be part of the fun. πŸ™‚

Yeah, I think they're perfect people. There's something about sun signs...they say their only fault is to be conceited...kind of...almost. They never really fall into ridicule, and their conceit is debatable. I think they're just awesome.
And Sag's, you guy are great together.

I totally agree about them being perfect. Everyone of course has their flaws and issues, but with leos, the positive sides really overcome the negatives. There's such authenticity in everything they say and do. Something so real about them, they have the kind of "lost qualities" that are harder and harder to find in people. They are conceited, but they seem to be very humorous about it. I like to poke them about it, all in good humor ofc, and they don't seem to mind πŸ˜„ Humor is something I love about leos, it's so easy to snap them out of their anger or blues with some shared laughs.

Thanks for the sweet comment about sags and leos! πŸ™‚ I feel like I need that sun and fire to be the best version of me.

Hey... if you look good; WE look good. πŸ™‚

I can't (wont') pretend to feel in a way that I don't--

I imagine our male counterparts are similar, if not the same.

So... if everything is fine now-- don't look for something

that doesn't exist to suddenly manifest.

We get a bad rap on the astro sites-- it's getting old.

:/

Oh...

You two are the best. πŸ˜„

Agree with everything you said. Lately i've been thinking theyre probably divine....eternal...or smth...would that make Aquarius imperfect? Im really not sure...

Hey Sag's are great too! They have the fire, the passion, theyre so fun. But i understand your want for leo. I found mine (im an aries) and although she was too young, a bit out of shape, etc...i never looked back. A leo is...well a leo, you just have to seize your chance _??

Us Leo's like to shine BUT I love my partner to shine also. The better she does then the better WE do as a whole. I would do everything in my power to help my SO achieve her goals in life. Happy wife=happy life

Aww that's so sweet.. almost made me tear up haha. If only everyone was this encouraging and appreciative of their partner πŸ™‚ It's amazing when a relationship is truly about being partners in life, helping each other to rise up to the challenges and becoming better individuals through "we", or the team effort.

You know this is the leo reaction I was hoping I'd get - the *we* look good πŸ™‚ It is so silly how leo is portrayed to be all about themselves while it is just not true at all. What other sign could you get these kinds of replies from, seriously. Maybe it is the strength of a leo's character that also gives them the power to admit they will only be stronger and shine brighter with someone strong by their side.

I should heed your advice. The similarity I see between leos and sags is that we're both very direct and say things as they are. There are no hidden messages. Guess I'm too used to dealing with all sorts of bs from people that it is just strange when there's no need to look for cues of everything blowing up soon. Everything's fine πŸ™‚

Thanks for all the love Montgomery!

It's all too easy to forget you only get this one life and need to live it to the fullest, no matter what others think. I do think if my partner can't live with me doing well in life, why would they even be my partner in the first place? I guess it's just never quite that black and white, as we tend to have these silly emotions and attachments to others getting in the way πŸ˜„ But ideally, it should be.

Man I love aquariuses too, one my best friends is one, but the energy's just different. I don't know if they can really be compared, I mean, both have the good and bad and in the end it's probably up to personal preference. How to put it.. I really appreciate aquariuses, but I respect leos, if one can tell the difference there. I love hanging around both and they're both fun to be around, but in a different way. I need to apologize less for my true nature in the company of a leo. Aquas are extremely tolerating too, but they get hurt by unthoughtful words and rough humor a lot, so I need to watch out for myself more.

Aww hugs to you too! πŸ™‚ ??_3 Everyone has divine energy in them in my opinion. As I sort of wrote in my previous message, the energies are just different and probably have a different appeal to each person/sign. There's absolutely beauty and goodness to be found in everyone (barring maybe extreme examples of completely twisted personalities void of any humane qualities in general). Life is amazing and so is human interaction - all the positive vibes that can be created just through conversation. I appreciate your comments SalamanderCandy πŸ™‚ btw is that Shizuo-san in your avatar! I bet he's a leo, such a fierce badass and look at that hair, haha.

The thing is, you don't share the stage with a leo man. You become his stage he performs for, he in turn is your entertainer for your enjoyment.

I simply have a loud presence and Leo's like that my presence is funny, carefree and captivating (I sound so egotistical) but it's true, I can engage with Leo's for hours on life and everything else.

Every leo man wants a woman he can show off for. Don't fight for the stage, give it to him and the stage is yours.

I am a leo man. I think beautifuldisaster has a pretty good outlook on this situation. I think that you wanting to "take" the stage could be volatile. Goes against leo nature. Rather perform together then either having it for themselves.

The clarification Beautiful Disaster just gave on the metaphorical "stage" is even more accurate. She gets it. Me personally, and most Leos I would assume; however prideful, love to shower the ones they care about with love and affection. However once that is betrayed, it creates an inability to give again which was hard to give in the first place. The best possible scenario for a Leo is finding a partner that is equally adventurous and ambitious. A partner willing to make a stage all their own, and to perform together on.

-To answer your question BD. Yes. Leos need a woman loud and expressive enough to keep up, as well as someone to rest with comfortably with after a long show. its also important to remember that which was just established, keep in mind the stage in which your performing on.

I think this description fits me as well. The leo seems easily affected by my mood, so I prefer keeping it fun and relaxed for that amazing happy leo glow πŸ˜„ It just puts me at ease completely.

sags don't take, we share and give through embarking on making experiences with leos, they are afterall a lover of adventures as much as sags. That's sharing the stage to me. It's a constant exploration with eachother and the world is the stage.

Good points there. I don't see us sags as takers either. Lovers of adventure - definitely! It seems that no matter how relaxed of a night we plan with the leo, it always turns into some sort of an adventure. I really enjoy that about leos, it's never boring around them.

share the stage yes, make him center stage all the time no. he has to share or he won't appreciate you. be good to your leo guy but don't give him all of your attention all the time. let him know he matters but you have a life too. do what you have to do. he can get spoiled too easily. and he might also get smothered too and lose interest. leos need to respect their mate and someone who keeps us accountable is someone who stands up to us as well as behind us.

if your leo wants to be dramatic, that's fine sometimes. but don't let him always get his way as if he is someone special and you are not. expect him to treat you as an equal. he has to be fair. that's a lion's lesson. true leos are dramatic. we have creative flair and we need an outlet. we are usually high energy til we need to recharge and when that happens we just want to curl up and relax. and then there are times we need to nurture. so when you want to be the center of attention, you can let him know it. a confident leo will love that his partner knows what she wants and needs and asks for it so he doesn't have to guess. he also likes to know that he can make her feel special the same way she does to him. and he can share the stage, wants to share the stage because with someone in his life who can do that, the possibilities are limitless. adventure is what leos like. do you know a lion who doesn't?

I very much enjoyed reading your post. I have noticed the importance of having your own life when with a leo. I think as a sag this works great though, as both signs need time alone in order to replenish and come to each other anew. I love how okay it is to say "now I want to be alone for a couple of days" to a leo, and leos just smile and nod "yes yes, I want to go do x, y and z by myself now as well".

I understand what you say about not making him feel like he's the only special one.. It is when I think for myself, decide for myself, do what's best for myself that he seems to appreciate me even more. He'll then go the extra mile to make sure I feel special, it's funny!

There is absolutely the tendency to be dramatic, with words. Occasionally what he does and what he says are entirely different. Sort of like he needs to prove with words that he is not going to abide by anyone and yet he acts all goody goody πŸ™‚ It's strange but I'm getting more used to it now.
