Libras & Conversation

Hi! I'm a brand newbie on here, but love reading some stuff on the message boards every once in a while!! Gotta question for all you Libras.. do you find that you don't like fully engaging yourselves in conversations? I have a few Libra friends & am seeing a Libra guy & I can't tell for the life of me if they're all trying hard not to shoot themselves in the face when I'm talking, or if they genuinely enjoy listening. Or maybe they're not actually listening and tuning me out LOL! But most of my conversations (even after years sometimes!) run like.. me introducing a topic, Libra nodding, me talking about topic, Libra kind of agreeing with what I'm saying, me asking a question, Libra answering it in as stereotypical was as possible.
I know you guys don't like getting too dramatic or too much arguing, buuuut is this normal or.. do you act like this to everyone or to people you just don't give a hoot about? I'd love to get the Libras in my life to be more open but have no idea how!

btw I might have worded the question a lil off--I guess what I meant was.. do Libras hide their passions? Kind of like.. don't want to seem like they're feeling anything too intently? I always just wondered because I couldn't tell if it was shyness or.. a really big love of being calm all the time lol!

Yes. It takes a very very special person to see that side of me. It's not shyness, it's a protector.

have you found anything someone can say/do so you show that side.. quicker?..or is patience all it takes?

The Libras I've known looove conversation.. it's mother's milk to them, and they really enjoy mental sparring, debate, exchanging ideas.. however, if they're just.. listening along, nodding, injecting a question or two, sort of passive and not actively involved (borderline distracted)... it's usually because the topic is somewhat boring to them, something they can half-assed participate in using only 5% of their attention. Mind you, they make use of these convos anyway.. Libras like to learn about you, get inside and see how you tick.. so they won't usually say, "Damn, this is boring. Can we talk about something more fun?" But if you want to see a Libra get INTO a conversation, get animated and involved and fully participating... find a topic that sparks their interest like that. And there are many.. Leebs are cerebral and their minds are constantly thinking about and processing information.

So.. keep talking if you want, Libra is learning about you. But if you want to learn about Libra, you'll have to find a topic that fully engages their attention and gets them talking too.

it depends for me, i always feel my way thru conversations. If im in a good mood then i can talk your ear off, but if something is naggin at me thn you are talking to a stone wall. I wont say shit to you not one bit but onthose days i stay away from peopl until i relieve some stress


i listen when people talk tho, if im quit its b/c im either mad or do not have anything to contribute. I dontlike to lie and act like i know what im talking about but if its something i know about then yea i can talk all damn day

I've heard this complaint about myself before. More than one ex has said they didn't know what I was thinking or how I felt about random day to day stuff. For me at least it's not hiding because I don't want YOU to see it, I'm just not overly expressive. I'm almost always calm and balanced. But it's not a "big love of being calm", it's just how I am. It's not like I struggle to keep my composure or anything. Yes I get fired up sometimes and if I'm angry there's no doubt, but that's rare. I do smile, but I'm not going to walk around smiling all day over one joke.

So true. I'll let you talk forever whether I'm into the conversation or not. While that may sound cruel to some people, the topic itself is not my interest. I am learning about the person who is talking and that does interest me. I'll listen, ask a few questions, and I remember almost everything.
