The Flirting Curse

I don't know why, but each time I approach to someone, just trying to be friendly, it comes across as flirtatious. It happends every time, even with perfect strangers, talking about the weather or politics. It's annoying, and causes trouble everywhere I go. It can't be my body language. I'm cold as fuck, my voice is pretty deep and raspy, but definitely not sexy, and I'm not found on skinship either.

There must be a reason for this!!!

I??ve been trying to maintain a cold, detached image lately: that's not working either. I can't keep pretending I'm afraid of human contact, I just don't want to give that impression... I'm getting really tired of this.

So, Libra fellows, I was wondering if any of you knew someone with the same problem, or have any experience on the issue. It would really help me right now. Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming you're a woman, right? Some men tend to be turned on by a woman with a deep voice. I have a raspy voice myself & a simple conversation gets awkward questions like "You have flu?". When I reply "no" then things turn sexual to my annoyance lol.

He's a "20 years old male from Spain ". I don't get the " my voice is pretty deep and raspy, but definitely not sexy" remark in this case though. Never have I heard from any female who doesn't admire a voice like that.

Oopsie daisies! I can't see profile details on my phone. But yeah, voices like that are definitely hot in a man as opposed to sounding like Beckham with little girl's voice.

Why try to be any sort of way my man? At the end of the day, can't please all of the people all of the time. Coming across as flirtatious isn't a real problem or a curse. No one died in the making of this Libra.

I have a deep voice too. I'm no sure men find it a turn on though. 😐 But people do tend to listen when I speak. I think it makes me come off as authoritative.

Yes, baby *in a Barry White voice*. Hahaha. I think it depends on the men lol. Not biased but I do love some women with deep voices, like Mariah, Alicia & Beyonce. They don't have girly voices at all when speaking.

On the other hand, I knew a girl with a deep voice but spoke with a fake, mousy one around men. It was annoying. If only they could hear her BOOM. She slipped sometimes & it was hilarious. Reminded me of that scene in White Chicks when one of the Wayans said "I'm gonna bust your ass!" in a manly voice while pretending to be a woman. HILARIOUS.

Maybe you should stop being so nice. Just a suggestion.

Delta my friend is like this but it depends on his word choice what gets viewed as flirting really. He has a deep smooth raspy voice haha. We call him Mr.cool, well get a fly swatter that's the best advice I can give.

Good Luck..been dealing with that all of my life. I just started shutting down and walking around with a mean look on my face. Sad to say, but it kinda worked because it made a few people afraid to approach me. Some approached anyway...lol

People don't hear my voice, often I have to repeat myself twice or wait til I get eye contact to talk. Now that's frustrating, would love to hold everyone's attention the moment I started talking.

Been in seminars where the speakers voice just drones on and I can't hear anything they are saying as it all just becomes gobbly gue. At least you have people's attention, put it to good use!

Actually, I got that a lot too just because I liked to talk shit and tease people. I inadvertently backed off on behavior like that because it started to get me the wrong attention. :/ I just realized that one day I hadn't been like that in awhile and it was all because of some bad experiences by asshats and creepers.

I dislike it, tbh. :/

I think that some people seek attention so badly that they read into things more than they should.

I had a interview yesterday and the manager looked uncomfortable with my social behavior, I was trying to presume interested about the job and all. After 5 minutes in the conversation he was just smiling away and get adjusting his shirt maintaining strong eye contact. I hope he didn't get the wrong impression. I was dressed business casual and well I was told by an old store associate that day that "I could surely make him do his homework if I was his teacher...

I hate when I'm in the middle of the conversation and suddenly I see "that look". It's like: Oh, no this can't be happening, please, I just wanted you to listen and have a good time... Agh, crap. She's curling her hair. Mission abort, MISSION ABORT!!

On the other hand, now I understand why people gives me shit for free and do me favors, so I won't complain.

The look is always the worse, I've gotten the huge laugh from something stupid i'd say to brighten the mood. You always get things for free?? can we hangout someday in the mall preferably at a shoe store haha. I was at subway one day and the guy was making jokes which I laughed and joined in he asked me what was my favorite cookie, I said macadamia. He said have 3 of them, I insisted I was not paying for that then he told me their on the house. He gave this look that I could not explain which made everything awkward.
