Thoughts On the Origin of Libra Sign?

I wanted to share a theory me and my friend talked about last night. Well I guess I cant take full credit for the theory as she came up with the good parts. I saw a previous post on why Libra was an inanimate object. And thats when me and my friend started talking so here it goes.

Even though Libra is an inanimate object in the western zodiac, if Libras were animals they'd be dogs. Why? The Chinese zodiac equivalent is the dog. And our theory came into this. Granted its different I know but if you look at not just EVERY dog but the dog on the ancient zodiac its a particular breed and the breeds on the zodiacs were chows and the Chongqing Dog. If you read on these particular breeds personality's it kind of fits the Libra base personality. The chow chow's in particular "It is one of the most serious-minded of all dog breeds, with an independent, aloof and strong-willed personality. Although it carries a reputation of ferocity, it is unlikely to attack unless provoked." My friend joked the "difficult" dog breeds is of course Libra.

Idk its just a theory, my friend also pointed another interesting thing out. That the snake is equivalent to the Taurus in our zodiac. Snakes and bulls nothing alike right? Not so, besides appearance if you watch behavior they both get provoked in the same manner, like peace and tranquility and their little world when left alone unprovoked. But as for Libra again those dog breeds are also known for sizing up new people and animals they dont know. Basically "judging" before leaping? Since Libra is depicted as the scales which equals judgment. Lol..really in depth...any other thoughts on this? All are welcome to chime in 🙂

Uhmmmm...interesting...I've read that before too. I can see some of the characteristics...especially the feeling people out before we feel comfortable with them, which some folks obviously feel as though we're being judgmental. I see it as being cautious because usually I'm so easy to get along with that if my spirit doesn't jive with someone right off hand, then yes, I keep my distant until I get to know that person OR if I feel a negative strong disconnect about that person, the relationship probably won't even proceed further than common courtesy. I can also understand the ferocious part and not attacking unless provoked. BUT..I dunnno. I guess I just don't understand why there's two different descriptions? Western verses Chinese, and which one is correct?

I had a chow when I was a kid. Big beautiful black dog. Loving protective... I'm good with that association. Of course she was also a coward. She was terrified of thunderstorms. We were out one evening and a storm blew in. She broke out of the house and ran away.

My parents got her while I was at school. I got off the bus one day and am walking up the street with a friend. This beast is just sitting on my front step. I paused on the street in front of my house, all I could see in the ball of hair was two eyes staring at me. I turned to my friend and said "I'm gonna come by your house for a bit". I called home from his house and told my mom I couldn't come home because there was a bear on the porch.

How is the dog linked to the scales?

LOl..I was comparing to Chinese zodiac...like if we were animals since our equivalent in the Chinese zodiac was dog..and not just any dog as the Chinese would have based the personality of dog with the ones native to their land.not like a lab or dachshund etc..but again its just a theory but I found it interesting because the animals the astrologers based personalities off of both Chinese and western have some similarities or they wouldn't have compared them you know?

You know if you think about it their BOTH correct in a sense...when it comes down to it they have basic similarities to western astrology..regarding personality...plus theres more too it..like day year time just like western...its more in depth...all astrology is and frankly its too much to really go into but very interesting to say the least...

Yea I was ok with that association too...when I was talking to my friend I had said "how is the dog in Chinese zodiac equal to Libra? Libras don't have personalities like dogs" and it was my friend who said that I had to think of what dog the Chinese would have based the personality off of and that's when we found the dog breeds I mentioned...which those dogs in particular have a specific personality.

-,-

what is your zodiac sign my friend ?

I thought that we are: monkey , chimpanzee.
The Chinese zodiac equivalent is the monkey.
not the dog ..

that is what I think.

and
I think.
we should do more research. actually, chinese zodiac is different and really interesting.
( also really complicated )

I think
Chinese Zodiac sign is based on year, month and day.
the month of october is the dog. I guess.
and september for the monkey. I guess.

I like chimpanzee. I think it suits our sign.
smart, lovely, charming, sociable, likes to give a show, entertainment
