Do you guys believe there is THE ONE for us? And how would we know/recognize them?

I don't know but I think what's meant to be will be.

Anything to not give up hope.

I don’t believe in soul mates, I just believe in compatibility and every person is compatible with a lot of other people on this planet.

We waste a lot of compatibility being human and making stupid mistakes or being too stubborn to say sorry.

I personally believe there can be multiple people compatible for anyone out there. Being able to find them is another matter. All I know is a sustainable, long term union should bring some form of peace and add beneficially to your life. If they don’t then they are definitely far from the romanticized concept of “soulmates” imo.

With me. Your soulmate maybe a person who killed you in a past life and in this life you have an extreme attraction and recognition but it’s there for a contract that you have free will to engage or not

I think there’s different levels of compatibility. There’s baseline compatibility like political leanings, belief system, culture, mutual attraction, future goals, what a family looks like, etc. Compatibility on paper. Long term compatibility referring to getting to know someone a lot deeper and how you coexist with that person on a daily basis. It probably isn’t really compatibility, but mutual willingness to work through issues. In a way, I guess it would be compatibility based on how much effort you’re willing to put into having a successful relationship. And that doesn’t even really relate to the baseline compatibility. That mutual effort and respect is what creates the long term compatibility that everyone is searching for

In the end, the concept of a soul mate doesn’t matter. People are convinced their “twin flames” are out in the world actively choosing to not be with them, so what good does that do? What matters is consistent mutual effort and respect. That’s why couples stay together so long.
