Backstabbers

How do you deal with them? Do you cut them out of your life completely, or do you pretend like nothing ever happened?

And by backstabbing, let me clarify. I mean any kind of "say one thing and do another" crap. You know, the kind of two-faced, "I'll lead you to believe I feel one way but eventually I'll screw you over" type of stuff. Not to imply that everyone who falls under my definition of two-faced is a *bad person*, or even necessarily realizes the effects of their actions. But, the effects are there, nonetheless.

Usually, I'll just cut the person out of my life instantly when I feel like that's happened. But...I was wondering how the rest of you deal with such people.

with ignorance (pun)

I first make them understand their own ignorance in the matter or life in general and then I ignore them.

When he/she/they are friends, Deflating a person's ego is a very nice thing to do when they evilly backstb you. I really don't have much experience with this but if you gave me a situation I could really explain my point of view

LOL cortica. I dont know what to say about this, but umm i just usually do the direct approach and tell them how i feel which usually involves (knowing me) "foul" words. THEN when they get the point, i move on. Yeah, we're always moving on..

Once someone stabs me in the back it is hard to trust again, but I try to give a person a second chance if he or she seems remorseful for what they did. If there is a second time, I drop-kick their butt into space. Spoken like a true Taurus...heehee.

Thanks all! Cortica, that was freakin' hilarious, "welcome that gemini into your life!" LOL! Okay, well it's not a gem, it's a...well, it's someone else. It's not the Virgo I've been dealing with, thank God. Anyway, sammy, thank you too and also Luz.

This person doesn't seem to be remorseful or even clued in at all that I'm pissed off, but whatever. Like Tom Petty says, "got to keep moving...on....keep moving on"

OK, this is just me, and it might not work with you, but the only way I feel satisfied in situations such as these is to make them PAY!!! Oh sweet sweet revenge, if it takes a lifetime, it's worth it. I usually come up with a long indepth scheme which will result in their ultimate demise, and then laugh as they suffer in agony.

lol. I like the idea in theory, but, I don't want to even waste my time with this person at all if they don't give a butter about my feelings enough to even ask what's wrong, even though I know damn well that the person knows exactly what's wrong, deep down. I wish I could do the revenge thing, and maybe if it was anyone else I would, but I'd rather they showed they gave a butter.

Well, I'm obviously not in the best mood right now. lol.

I do not understand trying to purposely hurt another...I have never understood it...but, as a Cap rising, I was old as a child and then become younger (but wise) as I age!

The sad truth: Even though one truly desires the perpetrator to see the folly of their ways and for them to CHANGE...more than likely, this will not occur...no matter what your course of action...
They must learn their lessons on their own time and when they are ready. I believe that some do not learn in one lifetime, but, in many...

I do work on forgiveness and unconditional love of my enemies (my angels help with this)...it disables their arrows towards me, but, does not necessarily change their behavior...it may find another focus which does not include me...
Everyone has their own path...even though some make no sense to me...I work on tolerance and strive to understand through what I know of their past (if anything)...

And yes, like you, Phoenix, I move on!

Any so-called revenge on those who are sometimes backstabbing (or just plain manipulative...) that I actually do is the misheivious kind, sort of like the prnk you'd never suspect of me. Anyone who really is mean/cruel/heartless/ego-bloated doesn't deserve my time whereas those who are really your friends who act insensitive (or manipulative...) just deserve some of their own medicine to wake them up.

The whole point is to make them realize what they are doing and make them learn not to do it in the future... I think of revenge as a service to society.
