Just thought I'd share a few little things that people who don't live where I do, might not be aware of.
It's christmas beetle season YAY! which is a good indicator that it's definitely summer YAY! (like the humidty and 35 degree heat wasn't a good enough sign!)
Christmas beetles (i don't know if you have anything similar where you're from) are chocolate brown, about an inch long and half an inch wide and really really stupid (but very cute). One day there'll be no sign of them, and the next, it's like they all spring from the ground at once and the night becomes full of their little fan-forced motor wing noises, the dull thuds of their bodies hitting every surface and the squeaky sounds they make when they get stuck on their back. Occasionally, you'll find a rare metallic beige christmas beetle that glistens green and purple in the light - all very exciting!!!
Unfortunately, one of the puppies has taken to eating them alive which is revolting beyond words (imagine the sound of dislocating shoulders and momentary beetle screams), so I've been spending the last two nights trying to rescue them.
Anyone else have anything to share that's particular about the place they live, that people who've never been there might not know about?
I can't believe you had me confused with Suzy Q!! LOL! Oh, well...
We have June beetles here in the summer...also not very bright! LOL!
I live where we have the distinct four seasons...I like it, but, sometimes in the winter, I think I should move south!! I do like to see the snowflakes shimmer as they fall...my favorite type are the big fluffy ones, although they are not the best for snowmen or snowball fights!
This is not typical of my area, but, in the summer, I have this toad who hangs around my place. He just looks in the window and hangs out. (I think he has a thing for me! j/k LOL!) Sometimes, he brings a friend... We can go right up to him and my daughter even pets him...must be good bugs around my place! LOL!
Good luck in rescueing those beetles!

I wonder sometimes because for instance, the guy that just got caught for all the sniper murders. I was so glad that they caught him and angry at what he did, but now that they caught him I feel so bad for him and his step-son. I cant believe how their
I have this friend and I enjoy them very much. It is not anything sexual, not yet, but it is great on a emotional level. They are funny and witty and very smart. The only problem is, they know how much I care about them and so they use this. Maybe I
Yeah I have a question for all of you. Maybe not all of you, but some of you, I've noticed that you mention God a lot. I understand that you're Christian, or just have some kind of strong faith, which most people do. I really don't understand why you have
you know what bugs me? When ppl judge you for the way you talk. So what if the person doesnt talk as intellectually as you? Why do ppl judge on this? Why do some adults think you dont know as much just because you dont talk well as them?? Even guys, guys
Senator Paul Wellstone and his crew and family died today in a plane crash. He was a great Senator and one of the good liberal democrats. My heart is heavy. He did so much good for so many people and causes.
What is your town known for or what is the most unique thing that your town has? For instance, my town is known for their roses and a junior college drill team called the Apache Belles.
What is life all about? I mean, you're born, you live and then you die? Does it really matter what we do in between? Is it important or do we just survive until we die? Im wondering if its not such a bad thing to not have a career? What does everybod
