I don’t complain in restaurants but if it’s really bad and I have no intentions of ever going back I might give a bad review. Like there was this one joint in San Francisco where their restrooms were disturbingly unclean, their main dish smelled off and the dessert seemed like it was warmed up via a microwave… and yeah it had pretty good reviews before we chose.

Funny enough no. People probably think I'm a huge complainer and a real Karen in public. Fact is I'm literally the most patient and understanding person ever. I've picked hair out of my food, and still tipped. Maybe that's why I'm so crazy on the internet, because I'm so passive in real life. Fact is there is a thing called human flaw. You could go to a restaurant 3 times in a row and things be perfect. Eventually things won't be however, which is human flaw. Super picky people will call it out, but I understand it. You will never get perfect consistency from anything human controlled ever. That's just life. So when my food isn't as good as the last time I don't complain. I just eat it and hope it's as good as I remembered next time. Once you start thinking like that life becomes much better.

I had to complain once because the food was too salty. But it was like they dropped the bottle of salt in the food lol. And I was hungry and couldn't eat it.

Luckily they were kind enough to send me another plate with zero salt 🙂 And I heard them talking among themselves that they heard this complaint before. So apparently someone in the kitchen didn't know how to cook. And it was just creamy mushroom pasta too nothing complicated 🙂

I never complain because I'm too shy but one of my more outspoken friends has spoken up about a dish I had to the waiter. To be fair the beefsteak was like chewing leather, but I didn't think to mention it. My friend just casually goes, "yea, her steak was really tough" and the waiter was so nice that he offered to replace my meal. But I was like nah, I'll just have some fried plantains and I'm good. Complaining does nothing, being upfront does. 😁

But that was the only time complaining in real life ever went somewhere, besides complaining on Amazon and getting your money back 🥳

I remember eating out at a sushi restaurant and they didn't cook my steak like I asked. This was like 3 times and each times they cooked it the same way, medium rare. I got pissed and asked what's wrong, y'all don't know how rare steaks is supposed to look like. After that I just asked for something else in exchange for the same cost. They closed down now and for food reason. They don't know how to cook.

And for *good* reason not for food reason. How the hell I just see that typo

Do you complain in restaurants if the food isn’t good or overpriced or would you just put up with it and say nothing?

I've worked in the food industry.

I also rarely speak up but when I do it's a real issue.

I don’t go back if it's a company or management issue. Pricing and issues about procedures and policies. If I really like the place and a new change I will.

If it's a employee issue food wise, I will let someone know if it's a big issue. I look at it as giving them a heads up about a problem they got to take care of for thier sake. Because as someone who worked that kind of job, it's important. Thats who they make thier money and keep thier jobs.

Positive verbally and by my tip.

If I complain to corportate or managment it's something big.

A good example i was in a LA Dennys the eggs where obviously microwaved and maybe from a premade box. They where horrible.

Yet the Dennys in my home area they are made on the spot and awseome. I willn't be going back to dennys in LA. Because thsts a corporate regional choice.

If I see it hapoen in my area I will write a review and one to corporate.
