The above is in relation to copyrighting a property as a whole or in seperate parts. Which one is it.
You know, if say you wrote 10 songs, would you have to register all ten seperately?!

I have no clue about trademarking/copyrighting characters, but I know for music you would have to copyright each song individually.
Some of my friends have done "poor person copyrighting"- you know, mailing a copy of their art/written word/whatever to themselves, and then not opening it indefinitely.
But I'm not really sure how that would hold up in a court of law.
Your best bet would be either to research copyright law online, or speak to a lawyer.

Okay:
Anyone ever protected anything through copyright?
If so, say you write like a book or create like a series, and you've come up with the font design, and you wanna protect it, how would you go about doing this?
Okay, to be more clear, let's say I were Matt Groening, you know, just finished creating the Simpsons Family and stuff, do I have to register EACH character seperately or will they all be protected under the one Simpsons banner?
Sh** is doing my head in, so answers will be appreciated. Thanks.
