Do you believe in mediums & psychics?

I was watching Long Island Medium, Theresa Caputo & the show is kind of impressive I must tell you. She is so bubbly & comes across genuine, so I googled her to check her sun sign. I didn't find what I was looking for, but I did find something else, though...they say she is a phony. A relative or close friend of hers went 'public' about it, she is still anonymous though. This Kim person says Theresa told her herself that it is an easy way to make money because people who have lost loved ones are vulnerable & gullible. All have a hope of connecting to their deceased family members in the "after life". Kim also said that Theresa hire PIs to do investigative work to get more info on them & pass it off as "mediumship" or "psychic powers". She also said that these PIs are made to sign up non-disclosure contracts and are paid VERY well. Theresa is claimed to make about 140+ thousand dollars per sold out consultation whatevers.

I don't know what to believe because this Kim person could be a jealous cow, jealous that Theresa is getting rich & famous while she has nothing as she claims. Buuut, at the same time I don't believe that people can talk to the dead. Kim said one hilarious thing though when she was asked about her relationship with Theresa, she said "I don't wanna say much about that because SHE'LL KNOW who I am simply BY READING what I say here, not because she has psychic powers". LOL!

Have you ever been to a psychic or medium?
Was everything they said true?

Never been to a psychic/medium, but my besr friends mum has and everything that the psychic said yeaaaars and years ago (before her children were born), came true. I'm a bit suspicious about it all because I haven't had direct experience. I know this only relates to the topic, but doesn't address it, but ouija boards seem quite odd, a lot of people say they have worked.

That's interesting, Kalean, so maybe some of them are legit after all. What I don't get though is, if they are doing it because it's a calling & dead loved ones are passing messages through them to their distraught living loved ones, why charge them to get the message? Why not just be a messenger? Jesus did his work without taking a cent if we are going to involve after lifes & religion into the mix.

I've never tried the board & honestly, I don't know much about it either.

I'm sure there are some authentic ones out there. I'm not sure I would want a reading or to be told my future.

If there are, I'm sure they're pretty laid back about it unlike the ones who get fame & fortune out of it. Why wouldn't you want to know the future? 😛

Most 'psychic' readers and mediums are from a long line of expert cold readers.

Being psychic is not something you have control over but something that is given at certain times or certain readers.

Anyone making money is not a psychic. Even Sally morgan is a fake. I know people who spend thousands a month, no exageration. I think every other person in Arizona is one!

LOL @ the Arizona statement. I've heard about "cold reading" before, what is it?

Nothing is free. Even on your death bed, someone is getting billed.

I get that, but the way these mediums shed tears during readings you'd think they have enough sympathy to just do it without pay. No hospital staff cries with you like that. Unless the tears are part of the act too 😢

I don't believe mediums can contact the dead, but I believe that our deceased loved ones can guide us and affect us.....I believe in divination like tarot for example it just always says the right things to me.....It was election time last week and I had to vote, I really wanted to vote for sexy party because they wanted to legalise weed, gay marriage, and make churches pay taxes and loads of other stuff that makes me happy. But I had my doubts and and consulted the tarot cards and the moon card fell out on the floor and for me if a card falls out by accident it still counts. Anyways this card means deception both ways if reversed and upright, so I ended up voting for sex party not knowing that their preference was one nation which is a racist party that wants to prevent boat ppl....I felt so stupid hahaha

LOL @ sex party. You always crack me up. And yeah, I also believe that those who have past on are guiding us. When I got pregnant with my son I dreamnt & heard my mother tell me to take the baby from her hands..a month later I found out that I was pregnant.

WC some psychics out there are professional mind fucks. They get you emotionally, they know the desires/needs of a typical human being. People are not hard to read. A true psychic won't give you the basic level of reading. Struggle, loss and suffering are common. So ask your psychic to tell you something new if you ever get one done. I think some people are better at picking up energy too. Just my opinion.

I believe in dreams though.

I believe in dreams too that's why I'll never go to a psychic.

I think of the so-called psychics and mediums on television and who make loads of money from conventions and what not as being full of butter. Like someone else said, just talented cold readers, con artists. I do believe there are persons out there with gifts and events that can not yet be explained though.

Better example, she said that there's a child, everyone is listening, everyone knows at least one child, then she says "this child has died", more people are relating, not everyone though, (she's still scanning the room), "this child has died from something at birth", she spots someone tearing up, then she ASKS 'is it you?' she should know right! She starts moving her hands around her face and head as if trying to describe something, the mother is nodding, she says "DID the baby have problems", still moving her heads around head, mother is nodding, "with their head". Mother says deformed skull, very very common birth defect. Then a woman next to her starts welling up, she asks "do you know her", the other woman says no, she says "oh, it seems as if you knew her", then the other woman says the same thing happened to her, then she says, more like shouts, "OHH, that's why there's two of them here, the two children", "OHH, that's why they're together here, 'standing', right here, OHH they became friends, they haven't aged blah blah blah, then the other second women says she lost three babies that way, Sally looks dumbfounded, she then moves on to someone else, there's no messages for the mothers.

If she can see these children why are they grown to child level when they died as babies, and why didn't she know the other woman lost three babies and more importantly why was there one child and then two, wouldn't the child of the second mother know her mother would be there before Sally addressed her, and be already present especially if she was friends. Also with the first child she said that she's telling me your her mother, so it wasn't two of the other womens.

Sorry that's very long but it just pisses me off when they play with real tragedies, and you can say at least it gives them hope etc, but there's others that are evil, and would say things intentionally to make people question relationships.

Oh yeah I get what you're saying & this Theresa does the exact same thing! I think it's cruel, especially when her clients are children who have lost a sibling, friend, etc. She approached this little boy at a grocery shop & told him that his sister still loves him. Apparently the sister just passed on recently & the family was still grieving. *Kim* says Theresa read about that from Face Book & the "chance encounter" wasn't by chance at all, but stalking

well some people see it as entertainment. I saw it as nothing more. u know just something my aunt wanted to do on a Saturday so I went with her. lotsa psychics/ readers in that place. maybe they had it and lost it due to exploitation. maybe some of them are just cons. the goosebump person I went to knew how to read palms tho. she mentioned divorce/ 2 families. another expert palmist I went to said the same. I haven't focused on family yet tho at close to 30. but palmistry is diff. if it's in the hand I guess u just have to read it that way.

I forget that show where the psychic is just really good at observation.

I think I'd believe in palmistry for some reason, but I don't have the guts to go see one yet. I've heard about regression from other forums. Its about past lives or something, right? Hypnotism I've heard about in movies & books lol..I know not a single person who've undergone it in real life. Does it really work & help you remember stuff?
