I did it for a year and a half. I did not like it. I asked to come back in the office. I am too social.

Get up and take a shower every morning like you would normally do.

You need some seperation between work and life so after work each day leave the house even if you just go for a walk.

Turn the tv on something boring but not too boring..maybe CNN. Just don't get caught up in movies.

Watch the snacking, since the fridge is right there.

Lastly, be mindful of production. My company had to let people go because when they went home they forgot they were working.

I have a spare bedroom that I set up for office space. After working hours I can close the door and forget about it.

I plan on having set hours because it will be easier, but we do have the option of flexibility. I just don't want to end up working at 10 pm. lol! Plan on keeping the hours to what I do now. My system is already used to it.

I have a 1 1/2 drive (one way) so I'm excited to get 3 hours a day back in my life as well as how much I'll be saving on gas. Of course the first 1 1/2 hours will either be clocking in earlier or sleeping a little later (getting up at 5 a.m. now) and the second 1 1/2 hours I plan on utilizing for the gym (which now, I'm too tired to work out after getting home).

And the opportunity to fix up a crockpot meal in the evening and turn it on in the morning (gone too long now to do that now). And in the spring, clocking out at 4 p.m. and working in the yard on non gym days(wasn't getting home til 6:30 before).

Of course, weekends I'll be stir crazy will have to get out of the house. Oh no! Does that mean the money I save in gas will be spent at the mall— Yikes! lol!

I have the option to occasionally work from home. And i must say even though I can liounge around in pjs and tend to my daughter if she was also home, I felt like I was working harder. But that may because im an assitant to the General Manager and if shes not in I have to tend to ALL of her calls from home.

It has its perks. But the downfall is you begin doing house work as well.
If youre set on a schedule on home then Work or Work then home, You should be all good.

Truecap - I worked from home twice this week. I find myself wearing my pjs all day (not a good thing lol) I find I end up working longer even if I start as soon as I wake up.

I did take a break at lunch to make a nice home cooked lunch which was much nicer then my usual lunch saved money on buying breakfast and lunch. I have an annual train pass so haven't saved on that by not going in.

Try to set yourself goals and a treat when working otherwise ul miss the talking to people n social aspect of collaboration with people.

I don't have a spare room so can't sep. Work from home

Take regular breaks n I like the idea of having time to make proper meals now

I work from home part time. I am the number one performer. That's why they chose me to do it. Nothing changed for me. I am a multi-tasker by nature and can handle all distractions and still execute. I lay in the bed, sit on the couch, dinning room, desk, whatever strikes my fancy.

One thing I have always done, whether at home or in the office working, is log all my activities in a calendar. I also log my phone calls: name, number, topic, time and duration. I have saved them all and have years of these calendars and phone logs filed. No one challenges me about my job or performance 'cause they know I have these. Never talk about it, they just have seen it, seen my write in it, seen me refer to it. I also have a work journal of the days interpersonal events.

Going to throw it all away and start fresh with my new job.

There's nothing like work in a pair of fluffy slippers and in the comfort of your home.

You are going to love it! 🙂

it sure is! everytime winter comes along i'm so happy to be working at home instead. you don't have to deal with traffic.

someone said that you'd have to plan a schedule though because it's easy to get lost.
