Its been a while since Ive started a new thread. I realized this last week and didnt wanna just break my streak with some rant. So in light of the shifting heavenly bodies, spring, change...

Here are my qs...

What does it mean to you to be an evolved (insert signs)? Keep in mind we have a whole chart of placements that offer our character their light and dark traits.

Im not meaning to ask a general question, but specific to you and your chart, how are you striving to be an evolved character? There are placements we may feel more than others at varying times. My pisces moon for ex, makes me pretty empathetic, but it also makes emotionally ambiguous and too cowtowing at times. For me to be an evolved pisces mooner... I really need to watch my emotional boundaries and make sure i maintain them without losing the pisces moon qualities that i think are so precious. Evolved. A work in progress. Always.

Evolved is a word i see a lot on these boards without much explanation once used. And it's a loaded word...

Lets talk about it a little 🙂

Getting past the tendency to stay a certain way. To use wisdom and judgement when it comes to the strengths/weaknesses in the make up of my chart and people as a whole. Overall, to get past being a Sagittarius and be a better person and spiritual being. Our signs and charts are nothing more than just a guide to help us get past being ourselves and staying in our comfort zones. Especially when it comes to love. I'm sorry but if you think love is based on synastry and planet alignments, venus, and conjunctions, then you'll make it harder to love unconditionally and disqualify someone who truly was meant for you.

and i hear what you are saying jynj... but what if the attacks are coming from our own selves? would you still treat your own way of evolution the same?

Someone once explained to me that Uranus is in my 12th house. It helps me to find creatives ways to break free from governing thought and come up with new ideas. Combine this with my sun's ability to "adapt" and you have...easy evolvement lol. If I find I'm in error, quickly change. My mind is constantly thinking, learning, growing. To others, this appears to be inconsistency, but actually, its improvement.

Before coming into astrology there was a lot of hate and depression, sorted through that and started to go in the opposite end of being happy and pleasing, pretty bad swing if you ask me.

After looking into astrology noticed some alarming things like being a Plutonian so I guess that major shift was identifying with darkness, first I tried to discard it by loving blindly then ultimately (which is the present) accepting you can't always goto extremes and that even through darkness there's a bit of colour.

That's where I learnt about my water placements. As a Pisces mooner myself and in general not maybe people talk about the darkness of a pisces but it's pretty brutal and it probably isn't until you sink to the bottom after many attempts at escaping it that you start to make the change.

As to answer if I'm evolved or not? I'm not sure to be honest because I've changed my views a few times so that's the only constant: things will change over time. I've accepted that for now because coincidentally there's more than one saturn return in one life time.

Right now I'm working out my piscean nature (my venus and mars) debating whether it's always good to just love without questioning and accepting.

I agree with part of your premise and conclusion except for the part of survival. This is actually an interesting topic. Is it about self survival or survival of the species. I'm under the guise that it is the latter and not the former. Notice in your example that the first humans hid in caves. Scientific evidence points to the fact that they lived in groups and this pattern of behavior exists in all living things down to the basic cellular level. By working in groups and combining resources, you not only ensure self survival but survival of the species. But go even further than that. The species not only survives, but thrives. It is the self sacrifice that brings survival of the species to fruition. Which is why I find it odd that our cells pool themselves together to create us and help us thrive but yet we'll become selfish and only think of ourselves when it comes to love and relationships. Hence, if you only focus on self, you will do what it takes for you to survive. But when the chain is linked in togetherness, each giving to the other who gives to the other, we go beyond the boundaries of survival and evolve.

seraph you went much deeper into my qs than i meant... all the better. 😛 i see what you mean... passion and drive in it's purest form will make you find a way.

Well, I am actually talking about the soul in it's journey through the twelve signs as astrology suggests. I will need to ask for clarification on selfless sharing etc though. Because, I remember something about the species turning cannibalistic or something. 😛

Forgive me, I'm a fledgling scientist's assistant who only pays attention when I want something. How utterly selfish. 😢

Its cool, you're free to evolve how you see fit 😛 It's funny you mention cannibalism and souls. Doesn't it explain what's taking place in today's society? Native Americans have a term for it. Its wetiko or something like that. Its the eating of someone's soul...their spiritual fruits in the edification of one's self. We call it narcissism, extreme or not.

Evolving means to change over time. In my eyes, evolving means to change over time... but for the better.

To be an "evolved" (insert sign here), means that the individual has looked past what most use astrology for... To define others. Isn't that why we all got into astrology in the first place...?

"Why does Scorp man/woman do this?!"
"Why did the Cancer man disappear?"

To be an "evolved" (insert sign here), means that the individial has learned to accept who others may be, and instead... Use astrology to define one's own weaknesses and negative traits.

To be an "evolved" (insert sign here), means that the individual who has defined those traits and weaknesses... Has learned that they are not entirely bad, but rather make them who they are.

To be an "evolved" (insert sign here), means that the idividual has learned the self control needed to keep the negative under wraps, and not let it consume their life to the point that it affects others.

To be an "evolved" (insert sign here), means that one uses astrology to better one's self by means of understanding their own chart first, and discovering what they need in their life in order to be happy... Instead of trying to fit the mold of what another individual in their life may need.

Nope, you are you and your mind is what you think. Your feelings are your emotional self processed by you and your mind.

You are not your mind though.

Your mind will let any thought be processed, and you have the ability to filter it or make sense of it... rationalize it.

Astrology itself seems to be a part of the ego we embrace to define ourselves. So imo it's kind of irrelevant. It can be a good guide or personal comparison to identify and overcome limitations in certain areas, but so can anything else.

I'm not sure that I agree with this.

I believe that the natal chart (astrology in general) sheds light on who we really are, negative parts included. And in order to see those aspects clearly, the ego must be brought back down to a managible level.

I've said is once before, and I'll say it again. Breaking down one's ego is the first step in becoming a better person. And I will attempt to do that every day I wake, until the day I die.

So... Astrology is not a part of the ego, but rather a tool used to define the aspects that the ego refuses to confront. So in my eyes, it is most defenitely relevant.

I agree with Dazed here.

For me... being evolved is not succumbing to baser instincts that dont serve a higher purpose for me... it's all about the higher purpose that i find for myself. kind of like how seraph described finding a passion. or exactly like that! but even without having found that... many people haven't, we should at least default to being good to ourselves and those we love and care about.

specific to my chart:

cap sun: balancing social time without losing sight of my oh so precious goals. and it's not just for me, but also being there for my friends... celebrating with them, adding to their company and living
pisces moon: maintaining my empathy and care in moderation, without losing a sense of my self and not taking matters of the heart too personally or possessively... allowing my own emotions to be free and without pretense.
scorp rising/saturn/jupiter: share the important knowledge that i know for the benefit of those who deserve to know. not everything is a game of tactics.
cap merc: dont be so damn formal as often
cap venus: be more affectionate with friends. no prob with lovers, but could use a lil extra with friends.
mars aqua: keep my clothes on. dont waste your time as much on different routes to end goals. keep your aims in mind... time will be more and more of the essence!
